Banks arrested this weekend, don’t panic. It’s been resolved.

Glad it has been resolved but how in the world do you not have your drivers license current?

I’m relieved that he ONLY broke two laws. Driving with a suspended license? Really?

Shouldn’t be suspended, but should become very intimate with the Neyland bleachers.

The poster is incorrect.

The first time he was cited with driving on a suspended license. This could have been for many different reasons, maybe his expiration date ran out or whatever.

The incident he was arrested for was when he was pulled over for making a U-turn and when they ran his information they saw he had a “Warrant” and arrested him. (His license was no longer suspended - which btw I don’t know how you have a functioning license and still have a bench warrant for “failure to appear” considering you would have to adjudicate that first to lift a suspended license). Now the funny thing is that a failure to appear for a traffic violation is usually a “bench warrant” which are usually non-arrestable. Usually you are just informed that you have a “bench warrant” and that you need to get it taken care of and usually it is at the court date for your new ticket.

I would like to see the arrest report because it seems like KPD went out of their way to arrest Banks.

It’s possible his license was suspended and he wasn’t aware. I’d give him the benefit of the doubt on it unless something comes out proving otherwise.

The KPD always goes out of their way to arrest/prey on UT students, particularly athletes. Jealousy runs strong with those inept losers.

Darn those cops for Banks having an outstanding warrant and no drivers license.

He did have a drivers license lol. That’s the weird part. You aren’t even supposed to be able to get an unsuspended license unless it has been adjudicated in court. Which means somehow he had a license in good standing and somehow had a bench warrant. I would assume that is why it was adjudicated almost immediately.

This kind of ish doesn’t happen at Bama but we have to deal with it here. I can tell you with 100% certainty that if this situation had happened in Tuscaloosa the officer would have contacted the athletic dept when the first ticket was issued for the suspended license and they would have made sure their player appeared in court.

Something regarding making an illegal u-turn while having a suspended license. Apparently it’s been resolved and he’s good to go.

I just wanted to get out in front of it before everyone flips out.
Thank you, this is the right way to handle this situation.

Well I would bet you the first ticket was issued in a different portion of Tennessee. Memphis to Knoxville is a long drive.

Maybe don't be out at 4-something in the morning, and you won't be the only car on the road that cops (who are always out on the road) can see breaking the laws?

Case-in-point, my brother-in-law got pulled over for stopping at a green light, because, I'm convinced, it was at night and the cop had nothing better to do.

Just go to bed.
