Bang Shootie conversation

So dinner is over and it's raining so I decided to take stock. Nothing really notable except I wouldnt trade a single one because of some history or other with each
The rifles:View attachment 271274
Winchester model 56 .22 sr produced in 1926 so I assume one of my grandfathers on dads side.
Winchester model 94 3030 w sode mount scope. First and only rifle I ever bought I was prob 15 or 16.
Sears and Roebuck .22 lr auto dads and what I learned to shoot with.
As you know, I don't shoot, but these are so beautiful. They're clean and straightforward, with that lovely wood, like a machine ought to be (well, maybe not necessarily the wood, but you know what I mean.) I like gadgets that are simple with clean lines, and aren't some weird glommed-together mess of plastic and maybe metal. #OldSkool

OK, enthusiast, stainless vs alloy steel, advantages & disadvantages of each. Your preference and why. TIA

Winchester model 12 20ga pump. Handed down to me by uncle who got it from his uncle. I dont have a nephew so it will go to one of my two boys. From the late 30's l believe. Still shoot it on occasion.
Steven's 20 ga break action. A christmas present when I was 13 or 14.
LC Smith break action 12 ga. Damascus steel barrels. Gun is family and from the late 1800's to early 1900's
My 870. Plain jane, bought it used at the western auto store when I was 16. Prob shot close to a million shells through that gun
My grandad had a matched set of LC's, 12 and 16. My uncle has the 12, my aunt's son stole and pawned the 16 at some point.

you could still gun him down with the 12 and get some retribution. Those woulda looked sweet hanging on a wall together

Agreed, beat to **** as they are. Grandpa was a firm believer of "they didn't make em to look at", and decades of New England scrub brush made them very pretty
