What do you consider a bandwagon fan?

*** Cheering for multiple schools. There are exceptions but I'm referring to people who cheer for big time football schools AND big time basketball schools.

Example: Tennessee football/Duke-UNC basketball

*** Cheering for multiple teams that are spread out across the country and have a strong history of winning.

Example: Lakers-Bulls/Yankees-Redsox/Cowboys-Steelers

I know lots of people don't care who others cheer for. I've just never understood being a bandwagon fan. It's like playing video games on easy, you're always going to win. The worst is when those same people brag about "their teams" winning. It's annoying.

Just curious what people think about bandwagon fans. If you couldn't tell, I don't like em.

you see my icons. I can defend them.
it's not my fault that I happened to grow up in an age when Magic Johnson breathed life back into the NBA. Hell, I was a fan of his at MSU while growing up in Michigan, so I naturally followed him to the NBA. A few years later, I started my fandom of the Yankees and everyone knows how awesome they were back in the mid 80s.

Who called you one?

People who learn from ESPN consider it impossible to be a Boston and NY fan, they cant comprehend that theres alot of people a quick ride from each city.

I've found southern "Boston Guys" to be very obnoxious and confrontational about such matters.

dude on here a while back claimed his second team as Bama while UT was his first. Unbelievable.

Living in Indiana, bandwagon fans are the reason i wanted Butler to get hammered in the NC bball game.

To me it is someone who don't even follow the team/s, but root's for who ever is winning that yr. Or just follows their buddies, wares team gear as a fad. Every year I see a lot of new fan base around. Just depends on who is in the big games. Makes me sick. Sometimes I'll ask them if thats why and of course they say no, but catch them slippin when you ask certain questions. HA

This plus all the rats that come out of the woodwork when their team is successful. Bammers are the best at this. They get Saban and suddenly there are 1 million more bammers walking the planet. May have been bammers all along but weren't bragging about it like they are now.

They must be stopped.

To each their own. I could care less who someone else roots for, nor do I care what they think about who I root for.

:salute:

Just to back myself up...

Cowboys - Born in Dallas
Blazers - Live in Portland
Canucks - "regional" team when I decided to start watching hockey
Cubs, Mariners - Favs in AL/NL, I don't think I'll ever have to worry about them meeting in a WS in my lifetime...
Vols - Followed Ainge's career from HS to TN, latched on

And I still have a small soft spot for the Beavs, but never really cared all that much past a passing interest.

Beavers affect me just exactly the opposite.

People who are "die hard" for teams and they have never even been to that city.

Cubs, Red Sox, etc.
