It's sad here and makes me so angry a lot of times. I always try to make a point of asking people who are alabama fans if they are from alabama or have family there, and almost always they aren't/don't, and I always say, "ok, that's kind of what I figured,"
I grew up in the Nashville area, and I know more bandwagon fans than I'd like to admit.(Mostly Bama and Gators, and 2 Auburn BW jumpers) Does East TN have this same problem, or are people more loyal to the Vols the closer you get to Knoxville? Has anyone lived in both areas? I just know that this week my Facebook is blowing up with R-ll T-de posts. Where the hell were all these Bama fans 10-15 years ago? I don't remember seeing much Crimson in high school! My main point is just to ask if love of the Vols fades the further West you go....for instance, all the Memphis kids that sign with Ole Miss.
Oh yeah, BEAT BAMA
All you got to do is go to walmart before a game all you see is a lot of orange after we lose im the only one in the store with a tennessee cap on.
You do realize that by the same token anyone not born in Tennessee or has family from Tennessee but are Vol fans are, by your statement bandwagon fans?
:twocents:
I spoke to a high school senior wearing Gator paraphernalia at a local Drive In. She was born and raised in Bradley county Tennessee, as were parents and grandparents. Had no connections to Florida, but was a Gator fan.
Basically it came down to being influenced by bandwaggoners at her high school. Sad. Sad. Sad.

It is still mostly orange in the tri-cities usually multi generations, but it's gettin worse. Don't worry though they will be back. The younger generation has no backbone.

But what makes me the most angry is when I'm out in public and talk to girls, and they tell me they are Bama fans. But, I've got a stash of garbage bags I keep consistently stocked up in my car, that I have to have, because how often these bandwagon bama fans make me vomit. Buck Fama!! GBO!!!
