Ban idiots and beer sales from Neyland

Beer sales aren't the issue haha. You want people to go back to drinking more before the game so their buzz will last and sneaking in airplane bottles of liquor?

I love the level of self righteousness from people in moments like this, it's hilarious.
Yea, it has nothing to do with the fact that some people can't enjoy life without alcohol and then act like a fool when they get it. Those darn self righteous people were the ones throwing crap and picking fights with opposing fans.. That tired excuse is getting old...this never happened when people when people were sneaking in airplane bottles.

In all my years of watching our beloved VOLS, I have never been more embarrassed by our fans’ behavior than tonight. On national television. With some key recruiting prospects and their families in the stands. You idiots who threw things onto the field and at Ole Miss players…I hope the UT campus police and the Knoxville police make it their mission to track each of you down, charge you with a crime, fine you, and generally make you pay for embarrassing our university, our state, and your families. Once you are identified, I hope each of you is banned for life from stepping foot inside Neyland ever again.

UT leadership: the experiment with beer sales inside Neyland is over. Ban beer sales inside Neyland forever. Our fan base can’t handle it.
Yeah.. I’m gonna stop you right there

Actually they crack down pretty hard on that these days.
Yes, they do...I think it was the 79 or 81 Georgia Tech game and my aunt handed me her drink while she searched for her ticket...She went in, I handed her drink to her and then I went in...Pretty hilarious what used to go on at UT games...

Yep. I was a student from 85-90, attended a lot of games in the 90s and early 00's prior to the crackdown, and the stadium literally smelled like Jack Daniels. Just reeked of it everywhere you went. It was so noticeable that I could tell they had cracked down just from the change in the smell. :p

Just to be clear, they were throwing mainly water bottles onto the field not empty beer cups 😏

Yes, we most certainly need to make Neyland a more hospitable environment for the visiting team. 🙄 Compared to the stories I've heard from LSU night games and my personal experience visiting the Swamp tonight was very tame. This isn't soccer.

No.

These type of fans are the truly passionate ones. Ban them and you kill Neyland.

Let’s focus on the real enemy, the garbage officiating. The SEC owes us an apology. Gross incompetence at full display by the refs.

The fans should have rushed the field once they called the TD back that would put the fear of God into them for calling BS to help ole piss win

Ban stupid refs! We got hosed at the Pitt game and this game! It wasn’t beer in the stands. Security didn’t do their job by the look at the liquor bottles in the stadium.

For one thing, beer sales aren't going anywhere. That's revenue and it's doubtful that it contributed to fans throwing objects onto the field. It is unfortunate, but nothing new. I remember Spurrier getting pelted with debris after the 2000 Florida game. Also, don't kid yourself. Fans in Neyland have always consumed alcohol during the game. I certainly did as an undergrad, before I was even of a legal drinking age. It's not like moving a gun past TSA. Very little effort is required to sneak in a large supply of airplane bottles to spike your drinks with. At least now, the university is getting a small cut of the proceeds.
