Bammers/ Phil Fulmer

They hate Phil Fulmer with a passion. I am pretty sure the feeling is mutual. I heard one of them bad mouthing him yesterday on the Finebaum Show.

I am pretty sure Coach is as tired or more tired of the beatdowns as anyone.

My guess (and hope) is that this hire ultimately spells trouble for them. My ratonale is that Coach will draw the line on the beat downs. Going forward I imagine he uses every ounce of energy, overturns every stone to find the right hire to return this program to prominence. His legacy can be that he restored pride in this program.

I didn't always agree with every move he made as coach, but I do agree that it's time now for the healing to begin and let's get behind the program and get this thing turned around starting today.

Only coach in history to beat them 8 straight right? Not even Tuberville did that.

Yeah but this was pre Saban. I truly believe that if the NCAA would scratch the surface, all sorts of illegal mater would surface in Tuscaloosa. No way a team is this dominate in recruiting and on the field without something going on. Could be they are hiding a witch doctor themselves.

Maybe our witch_doctor should curse theirs.

'Bama had Mike Dubose and Mike Shula as head coaches those years. Those two could make even Butch Jones look like a genius.

Saban has been going against Dooley, and Butch. Went against Lane one year and should have lost if it wasnt for Terrance Cody's man boob.

Fulmer scares them
I love it
We were 4-8 and they are worried about Phil!

Congrats, this is the most delusional post on the internet. :eek:lol:

The hate for the Philopotomus is real with my Bama brethren. I, on the other hand, have been telling my Vol employees that y'all needed to can Currie and get the donut muncher back in there, because his hate for Bama is real, as well and just maybe he will make a hire to get this rivalry back to where it should be. Hell, I wish he would pull a Schnellenberger and do a minimal search and make himself the coach. Why did you ever fire him to begin with?

And you fired him, now look where you are at.

Yep, we've had mediocre years after letting Fulmer go after his 5-7 season, just as Bammer had mediocre seasons after Stallings. Dubose was 3-8 if I recall.

It happens. Bammer fired Billy Curry who posted an amazing 26-10 record.

So don't pretend you are immune. Any program can make unwise choices.

All the Bama fans I know say that the curse of Fulmer/ Albert Means is still in effect. They predict utter futility for Vol football for another decade minimum. They also never seem to miss a chance to express their glee at the pain this fanbase has endured over the past decade.

Screw what Bama thinks. Those fools forget the turnstile of coaches during their dark years (their boosters recall, trust me, I know several). The short if it is that they went thru 7 coaches between Bears death and the coming of Saban. Sure, stallings had a flash in the early 90’s, which only served as a false sense of being among their elders, just ahead of handing the keys of the kingdom to Dubose, only to be followed by Franchione. The dark years were solidly upon them , when they hired Mike Price, who never coached a down (was hired & fired before season began). Their pain endured thru the Shula/Kines years as well. Don’t let them fool you, they have Skelton’s and dumb ass hires in their closet, and it began with the pomp and circumstance associated with the hiring of the one and only Ray Perkins, directly following Bears death. I had several buddy’s playing on that team, and from day one , he was their version of a “slick Willy”, and the players I knew could not stand the man. It only got worse for them under Curry (all in all they went thru a hell that we are on the brink of, and as it has been mentioned , we should pay attention to their history, as I am sure a guy like Phil is all to aware of , trust me ). Phillip Fulmer hates Bama, in the same manner that Cafego hated Vandy, and that’s a very real , almost obsession of hatred (it is what it is, and most all Vols my age know this).
They have their share of rednecks (I lived amongst them in N. AL thru high school), and they also have a very educated faction of their fan base which knows all too well what we are going thru. You have to establish “equal football stature” with them by pushing back, and reminding them of their past. Any true fan knows that all programs go thru these cycles.
I have been a season ticket holder for several decades, and my father before me (I watched Condredge, Phil, Puki, Watson, Spradlin, Spiva, Reggie, and many other Vol greats as a kid/youth). I am not a Phil homer, but I honestly think my food tastes better tonight. Good times are ahead folks.

Win streak started under Stallings and bammer was in top 5 with recent NC.

WTF are you, a closet bammer? That's exactly the stupid **** they say. Shame on you!

And if it was just about the coaches, how come no one else did it in that same stretch?

Seriously...do you just like cutting your own team down, or are you actually a bammer troll?

We had Butch Jones and Derek Dooley during Sabans run against us...

They were getting perennial top 5 and 10 classes in the 90's. They won the 99 or 00 SEC title. That program wasn't as bad as people act like it was. Phil was just good and dominated them
