A friend of mine sent me this email. Wouldn't this be GREAT if true!!...

From a VERY reliable source, on the recruiting front. He’s a D1 recruiter for a very prominent university. They have the goods on Saban’s recruiting tactics (strategy) for pulling the 5-stars. According to this guy, it’s always been sort of common knowledge that Saban was “ruthless” on recruiting, even when he was at LSU. He said Jamarcus Russell was being given in excess of $60,000 / yr.

But now there is hard evidence compiled that will be given to the NCAA shortly. It includes a paper-trail from a lawyer in B’ham (bama booster) to Julio and his mom. That’s just the tip of the ice-berg from what I’m hearing, though.

Surprisingly, none of this has anything to do with Auburn, either. One SEC school, GA, has submitted evidence, as well. Seems they ran across some interesting facts, when they were out recruiting some of the same guys as Bama.

I seriously doubt it is though....but still hoping for it.

Wouldn't it be funny if Bama went all the way and then had to forfeit the season and the championship?

That would be PERFECT!!!!

Saban is not that stupid. I understand the appeal of the story, but I doubt the veracity of the info.

Yeah Saban is a pretty smart coach, I honestly don't see him doing this. He would rather take the money for himself then give it to the players. :)

I do know Julio drives a late model, tricked out Tahoe with premium sound and his Mom works at Church's Chicken...

Don't toy with my emotions like this. If it were somehow true. Christmas would come early this year for me. I would say ole nick covers his tracks pretty well though.

Even if there is a solid paper trail we would not hear anything from the NCAA for at least another year. They will want to investigate and see how deep the hole goes if this is true. If it is we will know in the next year or two.

Wouldn't suprise me if its true either. As stated every big program has incentives for the starters. My wife went to UGA on a softball scholorship. You could ride through the players dorm parking lots and all you saw were new tahoe's. Heck Quincy Carter drove a new escallade.

If investigations were based on what people were driving the NCAA would need 20x the budget they have right now.

Thats why saban only hangs around 3-4 years... he knows he is a crook.. javier uranus is cruising around in an escalade....hmm! and his recruited players with 3 names gets a bonus
