Bama

As pointed out earlier, Bama will be ready for the bootlegs. The downside of the bootleg is that it takes away half the field for receivers.

The physical nature of Bama's run game will be tough as well. Our D-line and LBs will have trouble making the stops all day.

I just don't see us matching up well at all with Bama - probably the worst match up team for us in the SEC.

Hope I'm wrong.

1. Ole Miss turned the ball over 5 times and Bama was still only able to score one TD on an insane run by Ingram.

2. The above tells me that our D can certainly keep this game in reach late into the game. While we don't have the front that Ole Miss has, our D line is still tough.

3. The size of Bama's D line will be an issue if we try to slow the game will a lopsided run-pass ratio, but if we decide to run more no huddle and some stuff to keep the pace of the game up then that size becomes a weakness.

4. We must protect the ball(obviously). If we can limit mistakes/turnovers we can keep it close.

As stated before, Bama is not unbeatable, but we will have to play mistake free ball in all areas to win this game. Hope the coaches keep the tempo up through the bye week and use it as an extra week to prepare for a good AL team.

I agree with most of your post. JC has to play a near perfect game both passing and making changes at the line. Running up the middle will not happen. Our front is just to strong and our back ups are players that can be playing somewhere else now. Throw short passes outside to minimize our speed and go down the field 3-5 yards at a time. Our speed on D can also be our weakness.

I just think our depth, playing at home, and CLK being new to T-Town will all work against you. The game will be closer than I hope for, but it will be a great game. ROLL TIDE.

Let us get by SC this weekend then I will post more about the great game on Oct 24th. Like I said in an earlier post. I will post alot on here but I will be fair and not bash. I just want the same respect. Lets keep this good football conversation not about our home states. ROLL TIDE.

The difference is Ole Miss has considerably more strength and size in the D-line and LB core.

I don't doubt we'll have a better scheme than Ole Miss did but their D strength and size matches Bama's strength in the running game much more so than ours.

I dont think its a matter of preparations or schemes at this one point in time. I think all will be even on that. It's a matter of them having more, and better players.

This +1

Our coaching will keep us in the game. A Victory in MHO will require some breaks. Possible, but not likely against the #2 Team on the road.

Most likely we won't beat them but everything lines up nicely for us in this matchup. We're coming off a big win and have a bye week to get healthy and do some extra preparation. Bama has to play South Carolina which should be a physical game. Georgia was pretty one dimensional but I think our defense can shut Bama down also. It all depends on the offense and special teams.
