Is everything in the ACC bargin basement ?

“The Atlantic Coast Conference announced today that Florida State University has been fined for violation of the league’s event security policy following its football game versus the University of Alabama on August 30. The violation occurred when fans entered the field of play after the conclusion of the contest. Florida State will incur a fine of $50,000 for a first offense."

$50k for FSU or any Power 4 team is absurdly insignificant.

I think at this point, it’s rubbing it in their faces, plus, they are losing to teams that need wins. Vandy, us at the time, FSU, etc.

It’s $50k well spent. We all know what that win meant to FSU coming outta the cellar after last year. Very similar to our 2022 win over those scumbags.

I’m sure it got them more than $50k of free marketing for FSU. This is an investment.

Saban lost a game here and there. In a bad year he’d lose two. But you had to play to perfection to beat him. And you dang sure had to out work him and his team. You’d have never seen him just stand there like a zombie all night.

I get Debor is actually a good coach but he his demeanor is not gluing his teams together on the field. he used up his free pass last year. And I sure don’t understand how he of all coaches does not have a serviceable QB.

For all the talent, other than QB, that was supposed to be on that roster they just got manhandled. An obvious and total lack of readiness to play a P4 team.

They looked undisciplined and unprepared in all facets of the game. I think it was Herbstreit who described their performance as just lazy.

Lazy is a good word for it. They probably expected FSU to be bad. And they weren’t. I’d say last year for them was one snake bite after another. And this QB is ten times better for them this year. But when you walk in for a piece of cake and get a hammer it tends to last all night.

Deboer gave a clinic in that game on how to do very little with a crap load full of talent. But his lack of in game inspiration was endemic. Saban would have cured that attitude at worst by the end of half time. Their fans are not used to seeing a bump on the log on side lines. It’s not like he was playing GA or OSU. That was the level of team he destroys with Penix.

If Bama plays a good game this year, it will be the TSIO. That’s their history. They hate losing to Tennessee more than they like beating Auburn.

I hope you are wrong. We have losing streaks in Tuscaloosa and Gainesville that can die this season. After Saturday, I think the Swamp will be more difficult than Tuscaloosa, but like you said, I'll believe it when it happens. It'd be sweet to get two W's in those places.
