Bama Paying Players

What I think is interesting is that the kid is driving a "2012 Dodge Charger" Used those are probably worth around $30,000 to $38,000. Now if the owner of a $30,000 car doesn't have $500 something just isn't right.......... I mean if I'm the owner of a car that expensive, I'm going to have $500 cash in the bank. So perhaps the real question is where did the kid get the car???

Really? Then maybe you can explain to all us, De'Anthony Thomas' new ride?

How do you know what he drives?

Ah, hadn't seen the update.

But it should be pointed out that he probably pays less than 150 bucks a month on that car.

How in the cluck does someone pay only $150.00 a month for a 20,000.00 car?...lol! A normal 5 year loan with nothing down would put that around $415.00 a month!

I have good inside info that the NCAA is looking into a mobile, Alabama car dealership owner that just HAPPENS to be a big Alabama booster. Current players are telling recruits that this guy gives every all American and his mother a new car the minute they leave the program.

I have lost track of how many times I've said this:

Go to any major program's facilities. Walk around the parking lot. You will see many cars that very few players could possibly afford legitimately. Banks will give absurd deals to anyone who might wind up an instant millionaire within four years.

As to your last sentence, if he's giving them cars the minute they LEAVE the program, there is no violation.

But what does it LOOK like? See, there's the disconnect.

toothtimes, here's a little quiz for you:

1. The kid is driving a 2012 Dodge Charger T or F?
2. 2012 Dodge Chargers are currently selling in the range of $30,000 to $38,000 T or F?
3. You think owning a car this expensive and not having $500 in the bank is normal T or F?
4. Are you saying you think it's "Normal" for an undergrad in college to own a $30,000 car?

If he paid $30,000 and is making monthly payments of $150 with NO interest, he'll have it paid off in a little over 16 years.

You weren't really serious about $150 a month were you?

It's probably less. And when he gets his first NFL paycheck, the note will balloon. Surely you aren't naive enough to think this doesn't happen all the time

You must be under the distinct impression that I care what anyone drives in college? Now, if said football player was doing, say, 118 mph in a car, under the influence of, say, hippie lettuce, then, maybe.

At least she used to. Then the Dooley years hit and so did you.

It was so reminiscent of Mike Shula...

The beauty of sucking is the journey upward. Perhaps you recall, as it wasn't so long ago.

The agony of being at the top, is watching everything crumble out from under you...and it will.

I guess I can't relate. Alabama has never gone 15 years between league championships. But you enjoy that "journey upward".

Oh, you can relate and you know it. You're just trying to be a better dick. But I'll be the bigger one and walk away from this debate.
