Bama opens as 14.5 favorites

You really love pumping up players on other teams. Ridley is nice but Cam is better.

Also Amari Copper really only burned Cam once when Cam misread the play. The rest of his domination last year was in the slot against Justin Coleman.

Not really. It's called balance. I can recognize and appreciate players who don't wear orange and white.

The reason I brought up Ridley is because approximately 98.7% of all posts regarding the Bama game say "just shut down Henry and Tennessee wins". So, I thought it important to remind people that Bama has an outstanding young WR who can really play and break a game open....he did it versus Arkansas...kind of like Cooper did against Tennessee last year. Ridley currently has the same number of catches (38) as our top 3 WRs combined.

Finally, I try to, as best I can, be fair and honest about how I view/evaluate Tennessee's players vs players from other teams. For example, I recently posted that there's not a single one of the 236 yards that Henry gained vs TAM that Hurd wouldn't have gotten...because I think Jalen is every bit as good as Henry, if not better. I would also very quickly take Dobbs over Coker this weekend....we'll absolutely have an advantage there. Unfortunately, outside of our punter and kick returner, those are about the only 2 personnel advantages we'll have.

Happy "3rd Saturday in October" week guys! New to the board and wanted to wish all those traveling to the game safe travels and to an injury free game.

My humble .02 on the game. I think this game will be very close. Our offense (outside of Henry) is struggling. If it weren't for our defense we would have lost to aTm. We are very inconsistent on the OL and QB. In my opinion our record shows we're better than we really are. Our defense is the bell cow of this team. If Dobbs can get hot y'all have a real shot at walking out of Bryant Denny with a win Saturday. If not then it will be a long day for him. This defense is REAL good. Unfortunately this offense isn't anywhere close to being "good".

Good luck this weekend on everything but the win. :good!: LOL!

Agreed.

we win saturday
;because alabama cant stop running qbs very well.dobbs will have to carry the rock 15 or more times.double calvin ridley thats a must even if cam is on him.

Obviously I'm not predicting a Vol win but you are spot on in that if Dobbs can get loose running and passing the ball y'all have a real shot at winning. Our only saving grace this season (knock on wood) has been Saban has made the transition to recruiting more mobile/agile defensive linemen and LB's to combat the mobile QB. I'm not sure we've faced one as athletic as Dobbs though. We'll see Saturday fo sho.

If everything else concerning UA vs UT was even, here's how I see the differences.

Saban vs Jones: + 70 points for Alabama

Kiffin vs Deboard: + 7 points for Alabama

Alabama DL vs Vols OL: + 4 for Alabama.

Alabama (or anybody's) WRs vs Vols secondary: + 10 points for Alabama

Homefield advantage: + 3 points for Alabama

Doing the math, that comes to Bama by 31.

So I think 14.5 is not big a enough spread.

But I am still pulling for the Vols

FYP on the first bullet point

They have counted up our injuries and that's going to push it up over 21. Bama has a full healthy crew. They all wear body armor.

No we're not. Cam Robinson is highly dinged up, our center got hurt in the aTm game so I doubt he comes into Saturday at 100%. Kenyan Drake is not 100% so I'm sure Henry will have to carry the load again and I'm not sure he'll be 100% after 36 carries in the heat at aTm. Y'all maybe building Bama up to be something we are not. Our defense is very good. But our offense has a lot of holes.

As long as we play from behind we have a chance to win this one. If we get a lead then we will fold up trying to play prevent. Miracle, come-from-behind win is the only possible win. IMO
