We, as a fanbase, have built up Alabama so much and written off Fulmer so badly, that he might %ctually coach this week. He has to believe that, with much of the sentiment out there, this game can turn around this season and completely dissolve all of the negative sentiment.

I'm tired of the "Phil's best when his back is against the wall" absurdity, but it's true to a limited degree. Unfortunately, most of this magical ability happens because our frontloaded schedule allows for recovery against the conference patsies and OOC laughers. This game is against a good football team.

Alabama is good, but not the horse they're being painted to be. They took a serious blow on D last night and their O still has JPW at the helm. They are physical and great in the trenches, but they just finished struggling with two sorry football teams.

It's a classic style game for Phil to win. I don't think he can, but I wouldn't be surprised. I hope like hell we beat Alabama, but, in the event that we do, I hope we don't lose sight of the fact that Phil has outlived his ability to coach a SEC winner.

Ole Miss had JPW flustered in the 1stq but they backed off the blitz.
JPW is still that head case that will throw it to the other team if you put pressure on him. We must blitz early and often.
Our chances of having a running game got better with Cody out. I hate that cause i want Bama at 100% no excuses.
I honestly think we will win this game after watching Ole Miss yesterday.

Win or lose we must have a coaching change at the end of the year.

Beating bama doesn't change the fact that he has a losing record against tubbs, richt, meyer, saban, spurrier, throw miles in there too. No todays sec isn't for phil and he has proved it over and over again. One win over a bitter rival, although it would be sweet doesn't change those ugly facts.

It wouldn't surprise me if they win. However, I think the decision has already been cast. Just by listening to people "on air" that are actually in the know, rather than people that have "inside sources".

As I'm sure everyone knows you can't make strategic decisions based upon one or two tactical successes or failures. I would hope our football business leaders are looking at the big picture.

That said - BEAT BAMA, because in my day Bama week was the most important and enjoyable week of the year (even though it always ended in a loss)

You certainly aren't speaking for Hamilton. Our little visit to Atlanta last year resulted in a new contract, after some very embarrassing football, even in some of the wins.

So do you think the puppeteers are fed up with playing second fiddle to half the league? I hope your right so we can enjoy the rest of the year knowing, whats done is done. Winning out might be worse for this program in the long run.

I told one of the more obnoxious Bammers where i work that if al qaeda formed a football team and played bama, i would pull for al qaeda. Bad i know, but god do i hate bama.

I want to win Bama, with the loss of Mount Cody lasy night, it just got a "little" easier for our offensive line.

Bama's been in two close games the last two weeks, so I'm sure Saban's only going to turn up the intensity so their's no let down aganist the Vols.

Our D, had some big turnover's yesterday, so I hope they don't lose focus, Chavis needs to get the tape out and remind them how JPW shredded them last year.

Beating Bama, is alway's big, given their undefeated record, national ranking, and the pressure on our coaching staff, a win this week is HUGE.

Even if we win this week, the team has to continue to improve, there's still big games against SC, KY and Vandy..

GO VOLS...

It would be nice to beat bama but if we do,it will be another year of fulmer. Unless we lose 2 other games a bama win will be the "improvement" hamilton said he was looking for.

Win or lose, he should be fired.

I agree. I will admit though the team at least seemed decently coached last night (i.e. no stupid penalties, no moronic clock management, fumbles, etc...). Even if the team has turned the corner (which I am not convinced of yet) it is unacceptable that it took week 7 to do so

One big difference between Bama and UT. They have Saban and we have good ol phil. Question, why can't we get the ball out to Denarius Moore a little more? I'm not talking about running fly routes every play, but we need to get the man the ball. Also, do you think Julio Jones would get on the field at UT? He is a freshman and we do have what would be like 87 WR's in front of him.

I can't wait until Mr. Berry introduces himself to Mr. Jones.

Hopefully the introduction will be a "Knowshon style" introduction.

Although I'm glad we beat MS State. We must remember that Alabama is fast and well coached. Unless our IL vastly improves this week or Ariana Foster suddenly gains some speed and learns how to stop running into the pile. Or Chavis stays out of prevent defense etc,etc,ect..... then I'm afraid Ba ma will remind us of how bad we are and have been. I would love nothing more than a win against Ba ma. But to be honest I don't think we have a chance.

This is a horrible situation. I would love to see us to beat the crap out of alabama. If we could do that the chances of winning out would be very good. The problem if fulmer pulls that off somehow. He gets yes Another raise and another extension. We would never get rid of him.

I dont want us to lose but I dont want more fulmer next year either. This is a no win sitaution here.:frown:
