it must really burn you up that 1 or 2 loss teams play for the NC every year while an undefeated Auburn was not considered worthy.

What's sad is that the Barn fans have to convince themselves that this championship actually exists in the NCAA record books. There's not one selector. Not even a minor selector. None.
Heck, even Boise State and Utah could claim a national championship if they wanted to. At least a minor selector deemed that they were good enough to at least be considered for a NC.
I honestly dont understand why (assuming) "adults" cant debate their sports teams on the internet without name calling or high school level trash talk. Everyone loves their own team, can justify anything their coaches do and can eplain away losses with bunches of "what ifs". You aren't going to change a diehards mind on the internet, so why resort to acting like a 5yr old to do it??? I'll get off my soapbox now...it just hilarious at the level of homerism on these message boards, and how some fans just REFUSE to give credit where it is rightly due. Do I want to kill Bama every time we play them? ABSOLUTELY. However, I can also recognize them as a quality program, with a great coach who can recruit with anyone in the country. To try to "downplay" that is ridiculous. I do not agree that Kiffin inherited a team with more talent than Saban did, however. Namely, Saban got a team with a QB that was at LEAST serviceable. If CLK can get UT to where Bama is in 2-3 years I will be ecstatic. People seem to forget that Sabans first year wasnt all blow outs and roses.....he and his team paid its dues for a year before he got "his" players in the program and started to change the culture. UT fans need to realize this. If we win only 6 games this year, its not the end of the world. We are laying a foundation for the future that will LAST, no rot away like Fulmers.
No not really, started out to far back in the polls and that was one of the years that number 1 and number 2 went undefeated that year.....Very rare you have 3 teams undefeated in a season.....Yes, it would have burned me up if somebody with one loss played in it and we was undefeated....To be honest with you, I don't think anybody was beating USC that year anyway!! I am a realist!!!!
If you're saying Tennessee could beat Miss. State or West Virginia you would be incorrect, and I believe you know that my friend.

Actually they had 6, which makes your point even more true.
LOL......Yeah it had nothing to do with Auburn's defense taking the ball away..Turnovers is part of the game..We had 2 turnovers and a faked punt that didnt go good against Ball state and they scored, but it's our defense that sucks because they scored 30 points..Turnovers is part of the game...We could come up with any excuse. Florida should have blown TN out but they fumbled in side the 4 going in for the TD. They didn't throw it as much as usual...Sometimes you have to just give credit where credit is due......
Why don't you tell me how many coaches has ever went undefeated at Iowa State?
The coach before Chiz went to 5 bowl games. Chiz only won 5 games. The coach there this year has already won more games than Chiz did last year. The program went backwards in a big way after Chiz got there; ISU's recruiting went down and they lost lots more games. Trying to argue that he somehow did a good job there is just stupid.

Just glance under the Iowa State section and you'll see what I'm referring to.
Playing on a dry field or playing on a wet field... A wet field plays in the hands of a mobile QB..Their QB was all over the place...
I understand that.....But why was Iowa State fans and there Athletic Director so upset about him leaving if he didn't have them on the right track....All I know is we won 5 games last year and we have already won 4 this year...We have scored more points in the first 4 games than in the history of Auburn football.... We are not the most talented team but he has us going in the right direction. Every win we have had this year has been by double digits...People can talk about our schedule if you want but every opponent was a bowl team last year...
Here is a little piece out of a article I read this morning.
2. Auburn hasn't played anybody
This is a rehash of the fraudulent argument used in 2004 to justify denying the Tigers a BCS Championship berth. If you say something often enough - and the media has repeated the 'who has Auburn played?' mantra ad-infinitum - people, even voters, accept it as truth.
While a schedule consisting of Ball State, West Virginia, Mississippi State, and Louisiana Tech isn't exactly murder's row, it's not chopped liver either.
Mississippi State ripped Vandy and shoulda', coulda' shocked LSU. The Bulldogs are going to stun some teams before 2009 is in the books
Would it surprise you to know that the combined defensive rankings of the four teams Auburn has played is higher than the rankings of the four played by cross-state rival and poll darling Alabama? Really? Be surprised. The average defensive ranking for Alabama's opponents is 82.75. Auburn's opponents average defense ranking is 67.5.
Who hasn't played anybody? That would be number three Alabama actually. But who's counting?
I don't really think it matters what the conditions of the playing surfaces were; UF's offense is still much better than WVU's. Arguing that just makes you sound more and more ridiculous. And normally when it rains, there is less offense and not 509 yds and 300 yds passing.
