I grew up on the Alabama-Tennessee line, and though I became a Tide fan, I've always had a lot of respect for the Vol football program. I met Jeremy Pruitt last summer in Hoover Alabama. I was very impressed with the guy. He's very soft spoken, but there is a confidence about him that stands out immediately.

I'm not sure what he'll be able to do this first season (Saban went 6-6 in the regular season his first year with the Tide), but I have no doubt that Pruitt will resurrect the UT program. I watched the Bama-UT game in Tuscaloosa last year, and saw something I'd never seen; UT players were mailing it in in the second half. I'm quite certain you won't see a repeat of that in 2018.

Anyway.....good luck this season. Hope you win 'em all except for the "Third Saturday".

I don't think it's a big deal, most of our threads are dumb anyway (yet I still enjoy coming on here because I love hearing what other Vol fans thoughts are)

Kindly stop humanizing 'bama fans. You are clouding the lens in which I view you all with a white hot hatred and it will not be tolerated!

It would be nice to be competitive again, see players that don’t quit, and not have to fire up the VCR to watch highlights of our last good seasons.

Well crap I have to admit the Tennessee-Alabama line is better than The Florida-Georgia line. And I have never even heard their music.

I don't think you're going to have to worry about the Third Saturday! LOL!!!!

Though we're all looking for wins, a 6-6 record, which also reflects close losses and a noticeable difference in true effort and minimizing mistakes by players and coaches, will certainly be something we can build upon. I'm looking forward to (hopefully) seeing articles mid-season about how everyone misjudged the lack of talent on UT's roster...we'll see pretty soon.

I really do believe that from a pure talent/ability standpoint, we have an 8 to 9 win team full of starters. However it’s the players behind that where we start to crumble. I could easily say “If we stay healthy...” but I’m not. It’s a ridiculous thing to say because injuries are GOING to happen in the SEC. It’s as inevitable as death and taxes. Hopefully Pruitt will be able to manage it better than Butch did and he’ll continue to build quality depth for seasons to come.

F bama and their fans. Yeah we have been down, but we will be back and all these sorry azz bama bandwagoners will disappeared as quickly as they came. Saban is the best, but he will be retiring soon enough. The cycle will turn again, as it always does.

Better days are ahead. F Bama!

It's sort of a nice post, I'm assuming we welcome one and all, it's just a game isn't it? I moved to Alabama due to my son, I'm in the middle of the Crap, these people do not realize what "Good" is. I'm referring to the location on this planet lol.

Thanks for coming on and speaking, you are welcome anytime, however I hope you all lose every game you play. Go Big Orange!

No need to start a thread proclaiming to be an Alabama fan. Just put a handicap symbol as your avatar and we will know.

Joking aside, welcome to the Vols board.

I hate that too. I was at the UT-Vandy game and getting pretty crazy with half*zzed coaching and playing (Hoke was driving the hearse at the time).
Went to Mello Mushroom on the strip with my boys, and watched the ending of the iron bowl. Remember thinking, gosh, a REAL football battle, I miss that. I really hate to admit you are right, but yes, you nailed it. Those last two games, LSU and Vandy were just hot garbage. Pruitt understands what he inherited, and it explains why he would be foolish to crow about this team, especially at the Spring game.

Good news is, there are actually good kids with talent on this team. With an attitude adjustment, we just might be OK. I think that is happening. Very good and accurate words in your post.

And your post as well!
I think your right, there is some talent on this team and I don't expect this team to go soft like last year's poorly coached ( injuries and other things included) team
This team will exhibit some measure of toughness not seen last year (hopefully)

Like the last 4 decades I'm ready for
Football Time In Tennessee, it's almost

Thanks for the kind words and ignore the juvenile idiots on here. My generation has always respected the rivalry and I've always been treated neighborly at games down there. Both fan bases respect and love the game. We hope to soon be able to make our game with AL competitive.

Again, ignore the punk vitriol on here...they don't get it.
