BAMA fan here, and I just wanted to say...

I think most Bama fans are glad UT hired Dooley because they think he's going to be licking Nick Saban's balls for the next few years.

So Gran was what? A party favor? Special teams sucked last year. Do you really want a recruiter or a coach on special teams?
If they can do both I'm good with it. If not give me the coach. That is why we have a HC and recruiting coordinator for. The rest is gravy.

Try reading for a change. You know... that thing where you put letters together to form words and then words together to form sentences. It's crazy.

His comment was about the Alabama game in particular. So, no I don't put Lincoln's problems on Gran. He was injured to some degree and just flat blows as a kicker in general.

He made Hardesty a 2nd round pick. He had to be doing something right.

third time this week i've been impressed with bama fans and disappointed with gator fans. i was in a room full of bama and auburn fans, and they chose to pick at each other rather than at me (tote my hat on all occasions). but i recently moved to jacksonville, and those gator fans have done nothing but talk smack and do that freakin' chomp in my face. even if i've just me them.

so thanks, bama fan, for having a little class. there IS hope for the tide.

There's a kind of respect between BAMA fans and UT fans that you just don't see very often in the SEC or for that matter in other conferences.

Gran was the RBs coach. Ask Hardesty what he thinks of him.

Tennessee's best special teams player was also its starting MLB.

Special Teams is really an area where depth shows. Tennessee doesn't have much. No special teams coach could have much success when the special teams are made up of walk-ons and rejects.

The return game got a whole lot better last year. The coverage teams weren't great.

Cunningham and Lincoln aren't exactly great kickers either.

I think it started with ohio state michigan. But we were definitely the first to do it in this rivalry. It doesnt even go the opposite way.

I'm pretty positive we don't do it anymore. Maybe it was just Francione's doing, but on either the old VHS 30 minute special on the 2002 game, or some clip on CrimsonTradion.com, the locker room door gets opened while a camera is running and you can hear the "We don't give a damn about the whole state of Tennesesse....". It's been a while since i've heard - don't even have a vcr anymore to play the tape, but that's why i brought it up.

I was at Bonnaroo over the weekend, and I just got back like yesterday, so I'm a bit late in replying to this particular OP...

I definitely appreciate any fan, SEC or other, that is courteous and respectful, even to their biggest rivals. It shows class. Honestly, I work with some Bama fans, and the only one I want to punch in the face on a daily basis doesn't know what she's talking about. The others are fun to talk football with, even in our down years. And although we are intense rivals, I definitely have respect for Bama's program and (most of) their fans.

If only Florida fans could be this gracious. In Memphis, EVERYONE'S a fair-weather fan, so I run across many a Gator fan, and they're absolutely unbearable. I do extend a massive THANK YOU to Bama-country for kicking them in the teeth in the SECCG last year. I haven't seen that kind of whoopin' since UT/UGA in 2007 (or 2009, for that matter).

Thanks again for the class, Tide fan, and GBO.

I thought I heard something about CDD putting his best players out there, even on ST... Something like if a player wanted to rest, it definitely wouldn't be on ST, it'd be a 2nd and 10 play or something.

Personally, I think (and earnestly HOPE) that CDD will whip the ST into shape.
Wilcox will guide our Defense.
Obviously, the big question is the Offense, and I know I'm not saying anything new.

But under CDD, I think our ST will improve DRASTICALLY, especially with the addition of Palardy.
