I remember back in 2013 when Auburn beat Bama on the field goal attempt by Bama and ran back for a touchdown by Auburn. They got one second added back to the clock to attempt the field goal. There were smiles all around on the Bammers faces. Then "THE" field goal kick that was run back for a touchdown by Auburn.
Immediately after the game, and continues till this day, they started complaining about the refs and even said the Auburn player's foot was on the line out of bounds when he received the kick.
Sound familiar?

This is what happens when you win too much. Fans get the feeling of invincibility of their team, and can't accept the fact that they are capable of losing except from external forces. Actually it's a natural human reaction, and usually affects those who allow their manhood to be defined by the play of 18-25 year old young men kicking a leather ball around.

Neyland summed it up perfectly. Even made it Maxim Number 1. 17 penalties, muffed punt, missed field goal. The team that makes the fewest mistakes will win. There it is Bama fans. Written a hundred years ago, still rings true.
