Bama’s light show was about the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen

It was fine. Nothing special. Nothing to get legitimately angry over as a fan. For better or worse, Neyland will have it at some point though, so all of the bitter older men should probably just accept it rather than waste their breath complaining about how awful and stupid they find LED lights.

Wanya Morris was asked about the light show after practice this week and his response was that he found it really cool. And that is generally the thought of most Gen Z student athletes being recruited right now. It's why Bama did it.

I mean this to be of no offense but what older men find lame and tacky is of little concern to younger men that are being recruited to play football. Recruits love this stuff. And really, that's all that matters.

WTF do stadium LED lights at BDS have to do with state education?
Well let me splain it to you. Allegedly the University of Alabama is an educational institution . Alabama is #50 in education. They could have considered using the money spent on the lights for educational purposes which would probably benefit the state more.
Coincidentally(or maybe not) Alabama and LSU are #1 and 2 in the football polls and #49 and 50 in education rankings. Also they are #1 and 2 in the worst states in the country. So Roll Tide and Geaux Tigers!

I saw it.
I’d much rather pump money into something that can help the program not something that will taken down in a few years.
A good example would be a state of the art weight room/strength training facility-our guys would really put on some hard muscle, oh wait, we did pump millions of dollars into that-where else can we pump some more money, that would actually help? I know the guys that sold us the equipment and the contractors liked it, but what effect has it had on our players-in real terms?

So the University of Alabama funds public schools in the state? I just dont get your connection with the money that the AD makes at Alabama and public education in the state. Your post is inferring that either the University is responsible for public education funding in the state or that the state funded LED lights at BDS. Surely you dont think #50 in education rankings is the ranking of the University.

#50 in education but they can spend millions on a light show that they can only do maybe 5 times a year. I know they don't spend tax dollars on it but still a great insight into the priorities of this cesspool of a state. I'm as big a college football fan as anyone but if I have to live in a cesspool like Alabama to have a championship team I will gladly pass.
I will be glad when Saban leaves that he!! hole of a state. He is quite literally the only marketable commodity worth pissing on that is in that state.

Seemed cool to me at first. I didn't like how they did the lights during the time between plays, and even worse, when the stadium would go dark during time outs. Did they do that when Alabama took a timeout or just us? If the NCAA doesn't create a new rule regarding when they can be used, every school in the country will have to pony up.

Your post is right on point, I don't think those attacking Alabama as an educational institution have demonstrated much in the way of being educated, or at least taking the time to research what BAMA's vs UT's national rankings are.

Actually the University is ranked #153 in National rankings(UT is 104) . Higher education in Alabama is ranked #45. I did say in my original post I realize no public tax money is used, it's just the perception that most people in the country have that Alabamastan is a third world backwater state. And by the way I was a freshman in 65 when the vols ran through the T for the first time against Army and thought(and still do) that it is one of the great entrances of any sports team.

I thought when it turned the whole stadium crimson it would be cool to see orange in Neyland. Not taking a stance either way.. if we get it, i think it would be great. If not, glad we spent it to improve elsewhere. We definitely need to win regularly and get Neyland up to par. Bryant Denny is like an NFL stadium. Which is expected when you win like they have... $$$ flowing.

Hubbs was just on 1045TheZone saying they were playing the lights when the Vols were in the huddle and possibly trying to mess with them. He said the play clock was running. He thinks the SEC needs to get involved and make them stop when the play clock stops.

Blaine Bishop said "get your own light show and do it back to them" LOL.

Blaine Bishop..... Great player but is a complete tool. Him and Mark Howard

So shut down sports and spend it on education?

Its the same perception for the state of Tennessee as well and one that is equally as ignorant and befuddled as your drivel.

Huntsville Alabama is on of the most technologically advanced citys in the US. One of the highest rates per capita grad degrees and engineers in the world. But yeah, the rest of the state sucks.

The amount of brain power per capita in N. Alabama is probably as high or higher than most anywhere else in the country. It’s quite literally the Silicon Valley of the south. Legit rocket scientists live there.

As for the rest of the state, eh.
