And when they first started talking about it I thought it was a really cool idea. I was excited to see it.....then I saw it.

Maybe it was just the extremely pee poor choreography or the fact that the flashes were so quick that it looked more like a Japanese anime rather than a orchestrated light show but ugh, that was painful.

The best part of the pre kick broadcast was when the pride of the south land completely over shadowed their club song and light show. All you could hear was rocky top. Well played mister band director. Well played.

I thought it was kinda cool.

And I know it's the wave of the future; more and more stadiums will get something similar. Eventually, yes, Neyland.

But what I think the NCAA should get on top of, and soon, is when the lights can be played. Pre-game, post-game, and during half-time, certainly. During the game, though, should be banned. Can be disorienting for the players, coaches and refs to run those things between plays, even during 30-second timeouts.

I mean, imagine yourself as the coach during a timeout, explaining to your team the variation on a trick play you want to run next, and you've got disco lights going on while you're talking. Without rules, that can become the norm when the visiting team is on offense. NCAA is there to keep the playing field level; here's a place where I think some guidance might be needed.

I was a bit surprised the yahoo with his hands on the light switches didn't run them during plays when the Vols were on offense, honestly. Heh.

I hope they never put that crap in Neyland.

Me too. A flash in the pan. Give me the football game, the marching bands, the cheerleaders, the tradition. Reminded me of Uncle Sam's, the Alcoa Highway disco that was hot in the 1970s. Now all they need is multi-colored lighting under the field. Last thing we want is to copy something from backward-ass bammer.

I think it’s fun the first time or so but it would bother my eyes for an entire game. Then again, I doubt my 40 something self is their target audience. I bet the recruits and kids love it

It'll be coming to Neyland, just a matter of time.

It's the new stadium war and ours had better be better than everyone elses.

That will become a big part of the recruiting war.

Fulmer needs to get the $$$ and get Neyland ready to rock during the Summer to start impressing the recruits big time.

VFL...GBO!!!

Was cool but should only be pre game, halftime and/or post game. Should definitely not be during plays. Can really mess up the players’ vision/perception
Absolutely! Shouldn't be done unless they score, pregame or halftime. They were doing it during timeouts and I thought that was kind of silly but whatever I guess. Kids like it

#50 in education but they can spend millions on a light show that they can only do maybe 5 times a year. I know they don't spend tax dollars on it but still a great insight into the priorities of this cesspool of a state. I'm as big a college football fan as anyone but if I have to live in a cesspool like Alabama to have a championship team I will gladly pass.
