Bajakian leaving UT

Going to coach qbs in the pros is a step up. Could lead to an NFL OC job in the future. Lets not forget Tampa has the the number 1 pick meaning hell get to coach Jameis or Mariotta. I think Mariotta would be great in his system if he has any input.
Why would you leave OC position in the SEC to become a QB coach for Tampa? I understand that Coach Jake had been in NFL before but I am kind of scratching my head.

I could understand leaving to be head coach at Central Mich.

whoever we bring in will be fine, last year our Oline was terrible and our QB's spent most of the time on their arse. The line will be better this season by default of being a year older and stronger in the S&C program. That said its not the end of the world. CBJ will promote/hire the right guy, and as long as we keep Preston Williams we will be fine.

I find it odd that Coach Jones was with Preston last night reassuring him that everything will be fine. Coach knows what he is doing it will all work out, back away from the ledge.

Always a risk to replace someone you've had in place for your entire head coaching tenure. It will be interesting to see who takes over this critical position.

Realistically we will now be blessed to win 7 again in 2015. thanks bajakian you have no better opportunity than tennessee. we really didn't need this. i was hoping to beat fla and bama but now that looks almost impossible.

having to learn a new offense, will limit us to basic plays. we had a chance to be a lethal high scoring offense. now that will take another year. this sets us back a whole year in championship contention. we may not be championship caliber with this staff, until closer to 2020. i hope i am wrong but coaching turnovers are going to send us in that direction.

Yea it killed Ala this yr. It will be a Coach that runs the same system and won't hurt anything. If anything it could help us take the next step.

Rant begin:

Why in the hell does this always happen to us? I feel like I have typed this same rant here 30 times. Yes I get it all staffs have turnover, it happens every year to every team, its a sign you had good coaching, blah blah blah. I just dont understand why we seem to get poached the most when we haven't put together an impressive season in years. I'm going to cut myself off here and not even get into the why this late in recruiting cycle dilemma.

Rant over, thank you for hearing me out volnation

We need an established OC, not just a quick fix. Or someone on the current staff just because they are familiar. Like Sanders for Cutcliffe hire.

Get the best available guy out there. We are in a good position right now as a team on upward tick. Not, unless a mass exodus of recruits there is no need to hurry this hire. Which I don't see happening.

Amazing folks on this site. I never saw Jake get many kind words and now he cant be replaced. :thud::thud::thud:

OK,
So, with their history why would Jake leave just a few weeks before signing day?
It's an NFL job and it isn't as if they are needing a QB coach on staff tomorrow.

This should put tons of pressure on Peyton Manning to retire, possibly Eli as well to become a G.A. position coach with us as well.
