Bailey not ready

The hell he's not ready.

I can take a freshman QB in HIS FIRST START... making a few mistakes - but he IS managing the game.

It is unbelievable how much easier it is to watch a freshman make mistakes than a 5th. year. senior.

He's ready. He'll be more ready each consecutive start. That's how it works.

He already checks off each receiver, sadly JG still can't do a check down.

Why did Pruitt just put Shrout in the game???

I don't like pruitt but I did say the reason he wasnt playing Bailey is he isnt that good. Why would a coach desperate for a win keep s better QB or even questionably better QB on the bench? Bailey stands in the pocket way to long. I also agree with starting him. Why not pet him get some experience in a lost season.

Well, it looks like the torn labrum and pulled hamstring stories were just that, stories.. Pruitt covering his ass in case Bailey balled out and allows him to start JG next week...

Ok, so CJP is smarter than we think, he didn't start another QB to deflect how bad we were everywhere, he sacrificed JG to make himself look better

At least he's looking at all his receivers instead that one he's hoping will come open...

Both HB & JT look better than JG and they haven’t gotten much playing time...no way in the wide world of sports that JG gives us the best chance to win...BS

Bailey not ready bc he hasn't played!! The kid needs reps. He is the only QB on the roster that actually goes thru his progressions. Why the hell would you pull this kid when he need the reps???

Playing Strout does what exactly???

Pruitt is terrible.

Bailey has all the tangibles but Pruitt and Weinke have failed him this year. I believe the kid is going to be a good qb with the right coaches but we have had way too many plays that go to the last second on play clock with him still giving orders. Comments were made that the only reason he is actually playing is because the other two backups are hurt. Our lack of development is very evident. If he could have started earlier in the year this game may have been different but for his first start against a top 10 team he has done good.

Right now Shrout looks better

HB played well for his first game against the #6 team in the country. He protected the ball and committed NO turnovers. He completed some good passes and scrambled effectively. He had horrific starting field position almost the entire game which resulted in conservative play calling of run, run then pass on third and long. He would excel under the direction of a quality QB coach and an intelligent HC of which we have neither.

He is much better than anyone we have trotted out here this year. Imagine if they actually developed him instead of spending time on a guy who is worse than medicre
Lol. Of course he is! He’s the ONLY one this year not named JG that was prepared to play in a game!

Proves he wasn't actually hurt?

Would not have mattered how many reps Bailey had or how much more playing time he’s had. Anyone with a grade school education could see that the play calling had zero faith in his abilities. That’s an indictment on the coaches and insecurities about their QB play or lack there of.

I think it's obvious now that what we've all been saying all year proved itself tonight, Pruit invested too much wasted time into JG. I would have liked to have seen Bailey tonight if he had started ever since the KY. I feel he played smart tonight, just needs the playing time to improve.

I thought JT did a really good job. Bailey did too and will continue to grow, but from the little bit I saw tonight, in the words of Pruitt, Shrout gives us the best opportunity to win.
