Bailey MUST start against Arkansas!

I don’t understand why we don’t throw those deep routes 10-12 times per game. Obviously that’s the most accurate pass that JG can throw, and we’ve got some receivers who can go get it, plus a good enough line to give time...I don’t get why we’re only doing that 3-4 times a game right now

We may not right now, but we may have a QB or two who have not reached their ceiling yet. They may just need real game time to help them get better. Who knows if we have a QB on the roster who is capable of getting to a level which gives us a better chance??? It's obvious JG is at his ceiling. Let's try to give one of the other a chance to get to their ceiling.

JG gives us the best chance to win the rest of our games. Sure we can say "**** it" and play for the future and reps this season or we can actually try to win some winnable games the second half of the season. As bad as JG is, if there was a guy better he'd be playing. I've turned sour on Pruitt but the fact is he has zero reason to be blindly loyal to QB he didn't even recruit.

You have two weeks for practice, and a couple of scrimmages. Time to spin up a new QB1 to start with the time available. JG never starts the rest of the season, today was his last. He may stay at QB2, but that's it.

Here is the problem. JG isn’t going to win a game like that for us. He isn’t going to bring us back. He seems like a nice kid and I am not going to bash him. He can be an average QB that doesn’t lose games.
Bailey or Mauer can win games for us. They will have growing pains, but they can actually win shootouts if given the chance.

He does right now. WHo's to say he would still give us the best chance to win games down the road once another QB had a game or two experience under their belt? We should be able to beat Arkansas no matter who is at QB. (Not saying we will, because the same could have been said about KY, but the starting QB should not be the difference in a W or L against AR.) Give another QB or two a shot to gain some game experience and develop some in game decision making. If the coaches are as good at recruiting as the rankings indicate and we are led to believe in addition to being good on the field coaches, there should be a QB on the roster with a higher ceiling than what JG has considering JG has hit his ceiling.

JG has no chance of beating FL. Get another QB ready in the games now who has a higher ceiling than JG, and the team may have a chance against FL.

Hope you are correct, but I suspect you are wrong.

I agree with OP that Bailey should start against Arkansas going forward and the only other QB to see the field should be Maurer.

Also, our offense is terrible. Feels like we call the 20 plays over and over again. The 3rd and long called runs was driving me crazy. If we can't trust the QB to throw then he shouldn't be in the game. Only bright spot on offense is that the Oline played well throughout the game.

Where is he going next year?
Why do people keep asking me that lol.

1) I don't really care. Not in a mean way, I just don't care.

2) Where do all CFB players go after they play for 5 years?

5 years is a long ass time to do something as hard as play CFB, especially somewhere like UT. It stands to reason at some point JG would decide its time to begin the next phase of his life.

JG had a great game just because he didn’t turn the ball over. That shows had low the bar is for him. We scored less on Alabama than any team they have played all year.

That's right. The low bar syndrome. His performance today was low average for an SEC QB, but bc he didn't show 13 for the other team people act like he played well.

Prove me WRONG!

Oh...and I was RIGHT 2 weeks ago...TOO!

Bailey MUST start against Kentucky
There's nothing to "prove you wrong" with... except that Maurer has shown the skills to be a good QB and Bailey has not yet had that opportunity. Yeah, Maurer made mistakes as a true Fr who was not expected to play. He also showed flashes of the things that make a QB successful in today's game.

I want one of the two to start the rest of the year. I would love to think JG never takes another snap at UT barring 4 other guys getting injured. But there is literally nothing that proves Bailey is "the guy" right now.... or that he's earned the right to be the next man up.

JG played well enough to be the guy going forward. We can beat Arkansas with him as long as Kentucky JG doesn't show up. Just my opinion. I know people want change and I understand but JG probably saved his job today. When you really look at this game, we lost by the exactly the same amount of points A&M loss to Bama...then A&M goes and beats Florida. My point is we can win every game left on the schedule as long as JG can be average and the defense has a long look in the mirror. I don't know what the hell they were doing today.
I really do think JG limits Chaneys playcalling. I have a hard time believing he forgot how to call plays. That being said, he didn’t look horrible today. He did miss a couple of wide open receivers, but the main issue was our defense. I get that Bamas receivers are awesome but they were wide open every play. Horrendous tackling as well.

Yea, I apologise. Just pissed and shouldn't be taking it out on a message board.

I know, I'm from round that area. Country boy myself stuck in Florida now. I hate every minute of it.

Good lordy some are determined to go with JG forever, heck go with him next year too good old JG he isn't too bad we can win big games with mediocre qb play. It is time to look to the future at Qb and the future at qb isn't JG! With a year to burn and we aren't even going to let another qb get on the field. Goodness gracious!

Uh yea you darn right it limits his calling. JG is a average at best qb, folks need to accept that and move the heck on.
