I have Auburn relatives and have spent a lot of time down there. Whoever said Auburn fans don't revere Bo Jackson is batshit crazy.

No Auburn fan I have ever met holds Bo Jackson in the white light that Vols hold Peyton. They Don't need to. They have have other players since Bo in high regard.

Ask any AU fan if they could have one RB in their school history to be their starter. If Bo Jackson isn’t the universal answer then they are either football dumb or lying. Just like with Peyton. You mentioned Tee Martin. While I like Tee he was an average QB at best. His stats proved that. Almost every TN fan knows that the 1998 team NC win was mainly due to the defense.

If you were to ask the vast majority of Vol fans which QB they wanted to be the starter, Peyton wins hands down. Why? Because he was just that much better than any QB we have ever had.

Peyton underachieved at UT. He is no different than Rex Grossman. I pulled this up. How would you dispute:

Rex Grossman College Stats | College Football at Sports-Reference.com

Would you name a street at UT for Rex with those numbers? Better than Peyton's. Would you name a street after MceLroy? He has a NC? Would you name a street after Tua? Just curious. The fascination and unadorned love for Peyton mystifies me. Then again. We have posters claiming we played in the NC in 1997, so I dunno.

As I have stated you are trying to use wins and losses to fit your narrative. There is nothing to dispute. You are using the same erroneous argument others use.

What are you using? Grossman won everything that Peyton won. Based on the statistics I just provided you, he out performed Peyton and did so under two different coaches. What's your point? Start talking about Martin and Price instead of Manning

Name one other QB in UT, UF or Alabama history that has accomplished anything near what Peyton has. Take the NFL into account.

Why talk about Martin? How did he out perform Peyton? Please give your statistical data to back up your assertion.

I may be off on the timeline, but didn't UT rename the street for Manning after he'd only been in the league for a few years? I'm confident it was well before he won a Super Bowl.

He has a ring. He won when it mattered. Price is my personal favorite all-time Vol, but the fascination with Peyton has always embarrassed our fan base.

You're right. Grossman actually was much better than Manning.
I should not have to say this. Grossman played in one of the most exciting offenses college football has ever seen but Peyton still managed to throw for more touchdowns and fewer interceptions. And your take that "the fascination with Peyton has always embarrassed our fan base." is pure garbage. Our fascination with Peyton is part of our identity and we love it. Nothing embarrassing about it. You really are a Crybaby.

Manning's NFL accomplishments don't get us a NC. As I have have said before, there is too much blame but on his feet but there is too much love as well. I'm just telling you that I have lived across the southeast. There is no team I know of that would name a street after Manning for what he accomplished. Maybe Ole Miss? Maybe SC? AL has heisman winners with NC rings who are an afterthought.
