Bailey is the future.

I don't think so. He's raw, he knows it and he's a RS Fr. Not everybody bails just because they don't get to play

He's not nearly that raw. He's much more polished than anything on the roster.

Unbelievable the luck he has had...

I think he will have to play this year.

Then needs to bulk up and get ready to take on Bailey in the Spring.

Shrout is also a deep bomb waiting to happen as evident last week.
Yeah so he throws a good deep ball. That's great and all. But he needs to be better at reading coverages and not throwing into double coverages. He needs to learn to read a defense and take what they are giving. Just throwing a good deep ball will not win this job next year.

This may be shocking to you but he’s a redshirt freshman with only one serious year of playing prior to college ball.

He’s gonna make mistakes

This game confirms it for me. The staff clearly doesn't trust JT. Maurer is pretty good but cannot stay healthy. JG is JG. Good enough to get by, not good enough to beat good teams. I expect Harrison Bailey to come in and start as a true freshman and judging by the QB rotation tonight and last week, this staff does too. The announcers said Pruitt told them in the pre game meetings that JG is the best QB on the roster BY FAR. Either he was lying or.....Bailey will be the starter next year.

You're only setting yourself up for disappointment expecting a true freshman to come in and win the job

We'll see. Either way I'm going to bump this thread next September and either eat crow or......well you know....also, you know Maurer is a true freshman who we are banking the rest of our season on...right? AND if he were the starter from day 1 we are probably 6-5 right now. Maybe even 7-5. Dont underestimate freshmen.

We shall see. JG is back you know. And Pruitt loves him some JG

I think it's also pretty clear that Maurer is hurt worse than advertised.
Two consecutive concussions in a row is not something a player should take lightly and play immediate. I'm sure he's fine but they're being cautious with him.

How many has he left injured in? Some guys just cant stay healthy

I think Pruitt just doesn't want to be the guy that allowed a young QB to develop CTE simply to save a season that will end in a bottom tier bowl game most likely. I don't blame him a bit for keeping him benched until he is thoroughly scanned and shows no signs of concussion for a couple months.

If you want the truth, the answer is 0. He was held out by coaches decision after the hit vs UGA. He was held out by doctor decision vs MSU because of the nature of the fall. And it was another coaches decision vs Alabama. HE wanted back in after all 3. It should be growing increasingly clear that Pruitt is using each and every opportunity he can get to use JG.

The QB is more important than a lot of guys are giving credit for. With good QB play...you could make a case we only have one loss so far. Bailey is as highly touted as we've had here in a long time...and freshmen have been known to have a huge impact year 1. We are just so used to having lame QB's who don't do anything. We NEED a hero QB. Bailey at least gives hope he COULD be that guy. JG sure as heck isn't...and Shrout and Maurer ain't it either imo.

If this is true then Pruitt would of never played Maurer and started him against Ga Miss St and Bama. He pulled JG because he is not good at all. With Maurer the offense had a pulse , with JG its flat lined. The OL seems to play better with Maurer than with JG. But Pruitt is not going to throw JG under the bus, I dont guess he would. Anybody that watched Tn play ,especially another SEC teams fan, they want JG to play period. So its not just Tn fans that knows he sucks
