BAILEY in mix to start next game

I think HB needs to start and have time invested 100%

DEVILS ADVOCATE
Next game HB starts and throws 12/24 180 yards and 1 td 2 ints...Does he get a pass??? What if he plays the same the rest of the season??? Whats volnation gonna say then??? "Salters the next great QB" or does HB get a pass regardless

To play along with your game. #1 I think this would be about JG's stats anyways for Texas A&M and hes a 5th year senior. So why not give the free (this year being a wash) game reps to your "up and coming" QB. #2 As long as I am seeing progress, and not regression like I do with JG, then yes he gets a pass. By progress I mean better week to week, smarter reads, football knowledge increasing, Chaney opening up the playbook for HB, etc...............then yes, even if we go 3-7 I'd give him a pass. Also if I see the team start rallying around him and coming out with more fire, still a huge plus to me.

Its a damn shame it took JG getting hurt for any other QB to get a serious look.
True! I was at work Saturday and only got to see a few minutes of the 4th.
Saw BM throw 1 pass and then HB come in and thought CJP finally had enough of no offense G and made a change.
But learned later it was the medical staff that kept JG out, and then said to myself should of known it wasn’t Pruitt

letting Bailey get the start gives a little hope, excitement in light of the disappointing losses the last few weeks, at
this point it's worth giving him a chance, so we can work on QB development instead of a JG rework project

If other SEC teams can bring in a freshman and win, why can't the Vols? That kind of speaks volumes about our player development! At this miserable point of the season, give the boy some experience! JG needs to get on with his life as his time is over IMHO!

They’ll put guaratano out there and he’ll be standing the opposite direction when the ball gets snapped.

Everybody stays in the same camps.

It's time. Let the HB era begin..... can't possibly be any worse than the 3rd quarter ducks we've been seeing.

Too bad our regression on D won't give us a real shot at winning some of these games to get an accurate picture of what a QB with young potential and a relatively sound D may look like.

It doesn't matter who starts, the writing is on the wall that our offensive game plan is like something from the 1970s. The reason JG looks worse than ever and the other QBs look like they've barely played football in their life is walking the sidelines.

Unfortunately, it's where we've been since Dobbs graduated...turnstile of incompetent coaching and development. We are quickly headed to 3-7.

This team isn’t capable of beating any team on the schedule unless something changes.

Mods you can delete or merge...I got excited when I saw the headline....its doesn't say he is starting.

Yeah it was super disappointing. The headline mentioned his name and then the rest of the article mentioned him 1 time

I agree with you but Maurer didn’t get a “pass” even though he met every stipulation of what you just wrote last year. You may give him a pass but as fast as this fan base expects results, if he’s not all world from snap #1....... the headline will be “HB ain’t the guy”.

Is there another NCAA team that has had 3 years running top 15 recruiting and had this much under performance/development at all positions? We beat KY and Ark like we should have, and we're sitting at 4-2 right there w/ UGA...instead, as usual, and no change from CBJ, we miss our opportunity and are wallowing in the lower tier, getting beat by first year coaches.

Both Tennessee and Texas are such mysteries. It truly blows my mind that the two schools just can’t figure it out.
