I read a short article that said XI was not comfortable with the current game experience. No specifics in the article but I wondered about flashing lights and fireworks. Maybe he is opposed to the Woo!

The inbreeding within the Smokey line has gotten almost too bad, they are having various health issues from cancer to organ issues.

Also Smokey was out and on the injured list several week after that hot game vs UCLA in 1991 when he almost died from heat exhaustion

Nope. Smokey X, born in 2013, started a new bloodline separate from the earlier Smokeys. XI is X’s son.

Funny that XI didn’t work out. X loved to run through the T and was so calm with fans getting all handsy petting him at appearances.

IX was the Smokey wearing the blanket in the popular photos. VIII had a great winning percentage and the national championship.

This! This is what I would like to see! It’s like taking an old bird dog or coonhound out one last time just so they can feel the enjoyment and the passion that they once had. Give Smokey X one last hunt!
