Bad news on Woodson...

I agree no more cussing the players. Let's go ahead and fire a quality bball coach cause lord knows quality was beating our door down during our last couple of searchs.

Come to think of it UT should only accept resumes from previous or current Upward Basketball coaches. Jmo tifwiw

Tyndall is a fine coach and would've succeeded at UT but for the NCAA investigation. It's unfortunate.

Hoping for worst case to be a punishment similar to Haith. He's worth waiting 7-10 games, if something like that end up taking place.

Though Woodson isn't perfect, from a distance, it does make you wonder whether Tyndall has the player's best interest in mind ? Its obvious Woodson has some talent but does this coaching staff have the patience to bring out of him or have they decided to use his scholarship this spring on another prospect ? Reports were, Tyndall wanted five players in this recruiting class, to make that happen, he has to throw a few players overboard and sounds like Woodson is first one on the way out.

I'm not sure there is any legitimate truth to CDT "wanting five players in this class". If there was, then only signing two in the fall period is a pretty bad start.

Second, Woodson seems to be making his own bed here. I excused the behavior at Memphis as a player who needed an attitude adjustment, and Pastner wasn't the type coach to do it. Tyndall is, and it doesn't seem to be well-received by Woodson. He is running out of chances, and it will have very little, if anything to do with CDT turning his back on him. Simply put, Woodson needs to grow up. Apparently, team chemistry is an issue as it relates to Woodson, and if so, then Tyndall definitely has the best interests of his players at heart. Woodson isn't bigger than the team, and he best realize that soon.

Knucklehead - It appears you have a bone to pick with CDT. CDT desperately needs a big bodied player like Dom. CDT has every reason to do most anything to keep Dom on the court. If Dom is still blowing it, then logic would say he's really blowing it as this staff needs him.

Now if you truely think any use of profanity is a reason to part ways with a college coach, then you're going to have pretty slim pickings from which to choose.

The only real strike CDT has against him is the NCAA stuff and if he's busted then UT will have to find a replacement. The rest of the current complaints against him are as valid as the claims against his weight.

If some of you presumably grown men and women are this bothered by a few choice words from a coach then you probably shouldn't watch the football games either, since Butch Jones loves nothing more than to tear the zebras a new one a few times per game.

Even then, the worst part is the recruiting cloud that the investigation causes and that will last for the 18 months or so until the investigation is completed and the penalty is announced.

It torpedoes multiple recruiting classes for Tyndall, even if he comes out relatively unpunished.

Recruiting will take care of itself if a coach has on-the-court success. Which includes beating Div III teams and teams like Stephen F Austin.

Just sayin'.

Gotcha, who cares about the UT player's or the programs reputation. The ends justify the means, doesn't get it for me. Btw I believe Tyndall is a good basketball coach but there's much more to being the head coach at UT than wins and losses. I would love to find out what vetting Dave Hart did on Tyndall ? DT was part of John Brady's staff at LSU-- Shady Brady, the NCAA issues at Morehead St, all of the at Prop 48's and Juco's he brought to Southern Miss was one of first things that jumped off of the page, when I examined his roster the last few years. By it-self calling one of his player's a Stupid M-F'er isn't a firing offense but I've seen about all I need to come to the conclusion this fella's not my cup of tea. FYI-- I'm not a fan of Bob Huggins either

I don't think any of us have all the details on what Woodson's problems are. But teams have rules, including going to class, preparing for exams, doing whatever in the weight room, and so forth. If (I said if) he's blowing off this sort of thing, it's all on him.

Look what happened with Pig Howard last year. It was the team leadership that bounced him on out, not just Jones, and he had to satisfy them (as much as Jones) to have a chance to play again.

Players have to be accountable to teammates, I guess even more so when you only have 5 players on the floor. Why should a coach baby and protect a player who isn't giving what the rest of his teammates need? He's letting them down by the choices he's has apparently been making.

I would add that if you let one guy not live up to the requirements, you can expect more players to do so in the future. JMO IMO TIFWIW MPH TWSS etc

18 months? Following the findings? It would be the following year before we should expect a decent recruiting class. Especially if he wins with what he is working with. No diss Auntie or Jabby

OK.ok.ok...that's an opinion! You stated it in a respectable manner! I'm cool with that! Lol....👍💪😎

Thank you ladies. I still worded poorly. When I said decent recruiting class I meant top 25 nationally, like many believe is necessary to win.(consistently/competitively)

And when I said with what he's working with I meant no pg and thrown together pieces.

Left Eye...I understand! Those recruited were NOT in the top 25 or even 5* players! That's what all teams strive to have! However, when this team gets the pg, size and experience, they will be a force to reckon with! Having awesome fans to cheer them on winning or not, will encourage them to give their ALL TO TENNESSEE! We must be patient, as it seems you are, and be ready for the journey to the top in the tourney! (Lol.. That rhymed!) We love Tenn. And we will support them 100%! #GOVOLS

The investigation has already caused one talented kid to decommit from UT. Whistle past th graveyard all you like, but it's the truth. We've seen it happen at multiple schools recently.

I'm saying about 18 months from today, which is how long the investigation may drag on. Until then you'll have opposing coaches poisoning these kids on coming to UT by telling them that the Vols may get post-season penalties or that Tyndall may get canned (even if neither is true or even likely). 4 and 5 star kids aren't going to want to risk that kind of stuff.

You are blowing smoke. Go away with your nonsense. The decommit was at the same time the story broke. No connection at all.
