Bad News Coming at Vandy...

So a private school doesn't have to release information?

No they don't. Freedom of information act does not apply to a non federally funded organization. They have to turn over information in legal cases via supoena but do not have to report anything publically they don't want to....

That makes me wonder if there is a huge fight going on behind the scenes with the few that support the football program and those that don't. Vanderbilt is not a school that wants this type of attention (not that any school does).

So through the years basically anything criminal could have been going on and the media could have been totally unaware because they're private. How would a crime come to light? I'm serious.

I'm saying on a private schools campus crimes can basically be swept under the rug.

On any school's campus they can. I'm sure it's happened at Tennessee. A FOIA request isn't going to make the stuff that's, for lack of a better term, illegally hidden visible. Being a private school doesn't matter, really.

Hate to say Franklin will not lose his job. This is a David Williams problem. It's higher than Franklin.

I wouldn't doubt that Franklin will eat the dust, too. The academic side has a lot more power there, and if they decide they want to clean things up after the handful of recent incidents Franklin will get swept out with everyone else.

He is saying that 4 teammates got drunk, one teammate had sex with his gf and let his fellow teammates tag it as well, against her will.

There is proof that franklin had nothing to do with the incident.

No way Franklin is gone. This will be a judicial matter and that's it. The offenders off the team. If there was a cover up that's another story but I've heard nothing that he was involved with it.

I assume this will all come into focus during media days. Full rosters are doled out and the media will scour those pages to find who is missing.

Ainge hinted that Franklin might have found out about it and bolted.

Again, I think that with the repeated instances of problems we've seen recently, Franklin's going to be on a very, very short leash. The academics at schools, hell, even at Tennessee, have little tolerance for this kind of thing. If it is anything like what's been implied, that could be very bad news.
