Nick throws 2 picks in the last game and is benched, I blame the picks on the O-line as one of the linebackers was in Nicks face as he threw it. Now, Hard-head Fulmer goes back with Crompton. What kind of coach is this? We are determined to use Crompton at all cost when Coleman may be the best QB on the team. Stephens has struggled but I again blame that on the O-line. He can't throw if he is on his back. That added to the fact that the receivers other that Jones can't hold on to the ball.

Am I the only one that feels like this?????

Well Crompton gets the same pressure as Nick does, so if you blame the O-line for his interceptions then you have to give Crompton the same. Either way Stephens is a better quarterback, Crompton had his games to prove himself and he failed, so on to Stephens, since he isn't getting the job done on to Coleman....Don't give the guy another chance that had 5-6 games to prove himself already this year and has failed every time.

I'm not sure about Stephens getting a bad deal, but I can't understand why CPF is not going with Coleman. At least let him start, and if he screws up, than put someone else in.

If you're going to give Stephens a pass because of the OL then you need to do the same for Crompton. Stephens was able to make some plays that Crompton wasn't because of his quicker reads but his accuracy has been just as bad as Crompton's. Crompton has actually been more successful at moving the ball but is always a risk for a game-changing mistake.

Beat me to it Goliver.

Well, both of Nick's INTs were tipped at the line (more so the first than the second, but both were touched)....so, all INTs aren't exactly created equal.

At this point, I don't care who's QB, I just want this season to be over with.

No, Brian Kelly is currently on his 4th string QB at UC and rolling right along.

I think that if they were in the SEC, Brian Kelly and the mid-tier Big East talent he has up there would be at our level right now, 3-7.

SEC >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Big East

Stephens has had his chances and hasn't produced.... Crompton has had his chances and hasn't produced.... Neither has the right to complain about "opportunities". I don't watch practice every day but one would think Coleman deserves a chance since the others simply have not gotten the job done.

And to think how we (lots of Volnation) complained about EA...... Those were the good ol days...

Just put Coleman in so we can see what he can do.

I agree completely. I will say this our O-line has really hurt our QB's this year. I have never seen as many tipped and batted balls as i have this season. so they can't block or get the D-line's hands down.:banghead2:

Crompton throws so bad they can't be intercepted if the defender is anywhere close to the receiver. That's the only reason he doesn't have more ints.

Stephens had a fair opportunity this year to distinguish himself as the guy and never took hold of the position and made it his own. Thats all any back up quarterback can ask for, when you get your chance you have to go out and perform so that the other guy never gets back on the field and Stephens didn't perform at a high level (or really even at a mediocre level). The real bad deal here is for Coleman, now I'm not one of the crazed "put in Coleman" crowd that has been calling for him all season because I typically will take coaches opinions on depth chart because they are at practice and scrimmages everyday and all we can do is read the boards and look at the recruiting sights to see players potential. But with the season lost and us having no bowl eligibility, its seems counterintuitive to go back to a quarterback (Crompton) who has already failed us miserably before you even give Coleman a shot... I mean seriously, at this point what do we have to lose??

Logical, reasonable, well-articulated post. That is refreshing on this board. Agree with your sentiments exactly.

Ok, then what were you saying, that we should be able to roll on with our 4th string QB??

No, I was trying to say that our coaching of the QB position this year has been piss poor which I think had more of an effect on Crompton and Stephens that people think.
