It was never a left vs right or dem vs repub. thing. It was ALWAYS a trump vs anti-trump thing.

Trump is no where close to the worst person who has served as president. worst president I won't really argue, but as far as a person/human goes I can think of many others who pass Trump.

we have had presidents who owned slaves, even while espousing equality. I would consider that always worse than anything Trump has done, even with it being "ok" at the time.
we have presidents who fought in duels and killed someone in them. again probably worse, I don't know/remember the exact circumstances to know if it was purely self defense.
we have presidents responsible for the Trail of Tears, ones who, or at least their admins, were responsible for things like the Tuskegee Experiments, the imprisonment of americans just due to their nationality. all of that goes far beyond the worst of Trump, and its not even debatable.

These next categories are usually what's considered Trump's worst attributes.
we have multiple presidents who cheated on their wives, many of whom while in office, one literally so.
we have had presidents enrich themselves, and serve family wants before the needs of the country.
we have seen presidents use their power to go after political enemies and empower themselves. two of them are generally considered some of the better presidents.
we have seen multiple presidents attack the press, and make mean comments.

there is very little that Trump is the worst, most, or unique at. the ONLY difference is how some people choose to react to him. and the way you choose to react to Trump is divisive to the point of obscuring any possible truths you may inadvertently come across.

What you’ve failed to realize is that every president especially since Bush 2 has been despicable.

Obama was probably as despicable as trumpy, but he wasn’t a blowhard idiot that ranted on social media. Obama was more of a smooth talking snake in the grass.

Unless Trump starts a civil war that leads to the death of a million Americans it's impossible for him to be the worst ever. Unless Trump puts a million plus Americans in internment camps for years it's impossible for Trump to be the second (or at least top 4) worst ever. Unless Trump helps create something as evil as the Federal Reserve it's impossible for him to be in the top 5 worst ever.

but don't confuse my hatred of trump and trumpism as a general hatred of the right and repubs.

It's unfortunate that there is as big of an overlap as there is....but that will eventually dwindle and finally die away.

TBO, I haven't read many of your posts till lately, so I get not trusting either side. I just haven't seen alot of criticism of anything other than MAGA from you. But, if I missed a good bit of chiding the left as well I take the hit. I'm just saying the truth as you see it (which is fine) and chide MAGA and say you can't be christian and MAGA...is equally applicable to the leftist cults. Can't say this group and not say that group. Neither walk the walk. Maybe down side alleys, but not around the block. Wasn't a personal attack.

That's why there's a continuum to explain it all away. Place Trump to the extreme right end. Everybody left of that is just peachy. I used to not get the continuum. Then you fianlly figure out how he scales it, and it all makes sense.

As I offered with Woodsy (I think) though. Trump's ability to be presendential in his behavior in an executive role is severley lacking (compared to normal Trump of round 1) of late and it's not wearing well. Even my wife turns Fox when he comes on now, live or recorded in reporting segments.

There is no debate that he is a despicable human being. That goes without saying. Won’t bother arguing whether he’s the worst person we’ve ever had as President. As you said, there have been plenty of bad guys who have been in that office. I would point out that he has done/said questionable things in a number of areas from business to his personal life and in office. He has touched all bases and not just one. He is consistent though and I’ll give him that.
