Bad Bunny (split)

The Super Bowl is an event. It draws a LOT of non traditional football viewers. And the NFL wants more young viewers because old farts like me will die sooner than the young folks.

I'm not a Bad Bunny fan, at all, but I understand business.

We'll see - I think that's what NFL is counting on regarding young people support, but I'm not sure they calculated correctly. It seems to me that even younger football audience does not want this given younger males in USA (presumably most important future NFL audience) appears to be moving to the right politically (especially after Charlie Kirk assasination). If NFL becomes more global (big if) things may change where this would not be so controversial.

Meh. I don't get my politics from athletes nor sports organizations nor do I care what they think about politics.

I support my POTUS to do the job even though I'm often shaking my head at his social media antics. It has nothing to do with his performance which is high quality.

I support my sports to entertain me and I shook my head at last year's halftime and probably will this year. It has nothing to do with to football which I hope is high quality.

Now that's enough. This is the wrong thread and I'm sorry to the mods and those who care about our good signing day.

I think you are so incredibly wrong, but I'll leave the politics for others to get into in another forum.

Some folks never got over parallel fifths and it shows.
Nice, I love Chat GPT too.. Makes you a musical genius all in a few clicks. Good to see you have your just as clueless posse backing you up. BTW, parallel fifths were an issue long before rock music showed up, and in present day music--hardly an issue. Many more problems than that.....pretentious azzhole

For how many years have I talked about being a part of the Pride of the Southland on here? Do you think nobody in those 400 musicians (and the other 400 who tried out and didn't make the cut) has any prior knowledge of counterpoint without the assistance of LLMs?

Believe it or not I knew about the controversy behind parallel fifths from grumbling by fellow musicians before I ever actually cracked open a book about music theory or the history of counterpoint to find out why it was so controversial. To be honest, if you are able to learn about that from an LLM, that's great. You ought to use the learning tools that work best for you, but I'd warn you not to use ChatGPT as a crutch, as it is frequently wrong, and when it is wrong it's confidently wrong. I didn't learn that bit from an LLM, either -- OpenAI published a paper about the level of accuracy from LLM responses and why you shouldn't expect your LLM to admit when it's wrong: Why Language Models Hallucinate

It's a big duh that parallel fifths aren't an issue right now in music, as classical composers moved beyond counterpoint long ago and the vast majority of pop musicians aren't striving to have independent motion from the different vocal parts even if they have them. Power chords by definition are only fifths, so you're basically moving parallel fifths when you're doing an ascending line in power chords. But it's very weird to me that you're upset by a throwaway one-liner that should have had a target audience on this board of like 5 people. Whatever is going on for you, you'd do well to step back, exhale, and cool down, as it seems you're having a tough time.
