Backup team?

I enjoy college football in general but my back up team is the Air Force Academy. They are having a tough go early this year.
I was like a kid in a candy store when Fisher DeBerry brought his team into Neyland stadium in 2006.
And like a true football man DeBerry went for two when he could have tied the game with an kick. He stated they came here to win. Tennessee was very fortunate to pull off the win, 31-30.

Interesting side story, a few years before Air Force was added to our schedule I had contacted Coach DeBerry and invited him to Knoxville and asked if there were any possibility the Vols and Falcons would one day play. He responded with a very nice thank you for the invitation and basically stated anything is possible.

After the game I again contacted Coach DeBerry and told him how great of a program he had built and how fortunate the Vols were that day.
He told me they had a wonderful time in Tennessee and what a great experience it was to play in Neyland.

Air Force is my number 2 team as well! And I will usually root for Army and Navy against teams not named Tennessee and Air Force.

Well all I know is that today a team wearing orange and called UT is whipping Oklahoma up and down the field. The bad news, it's the wrong shade of orange.

I like watching MTSU when the Vols are not on. They have a decent team this year. Love seeing Kiffin lose to any team from Tennessee

I watch as much college football as I can. Who I pull for in any particular game depends on one of several variables. I always pull against Florida, Alabama, and Georgia. Other than that, do I have a strong dislike for either team? Does the outcome affect my Vols in any way? Potential upset? Specific player I like?

I will always be a Vol. I go to every home game and yell my arse off when our team is on D. I recognize that we are in the midst of a LONG rebuild to get back to the top of the SEC, and I will be there through the journey.

That said, I enjoy rooting for a competitive team. I find myself watching other football teams... college and Pro. As a lifelong Tennessee resident, I pull for the Titans. Do you have a backup team as well?

No, that's dumb. One man, one Team. GBO!!!

Been a Vol and Titan fan my whole life. The Titan's last game was epic. I'm glad at least one of my teams has a shot this year.

Always excited for the future of both teams. Let's hope the Vols can turn it around.

Without question the Predators. Living in Nashville you can’t help but be excited to see a team built the right way. Great leadership leads to great results.

I pull for ETSU, what with graduating from there and having spent several years of my life living in the Johnson City area. I also pull for the Predators, I've been to numerous games, including a Stanley Cup playoffs game back in 2011 against Anaheim. They lost the game but won the series.

Every sports organization in tennessee should be meeting with pred execs on a constant basis. What a well ran organization that has it all together. Awesome team that can hopefully pull the cup this year, fan involvement is outstanding. Just a good organization overall
