I am having trouble convincing myself to spend $20 for radio this year (especially when I can listen on the actual radio 95 percent of the time). I didn't watch enough non-Braves games to renew the TV subscription this year. I bought the DirecTV hockey package instead, which was a great deal because it was only $50 to make me angry three times a week. Bargain!

So fill me in on Bethancourt. From a quick stat scan he's a career .265 hitter with little power. I'm guessing he's solid defensively and has a good arm?

Click the PC mode link first if you have one. The. Try the iPhone skin. Let me know if that makes a difference.

Edit: the pc mode doesn't do anything?

I click on PC Mode and it just reloads the page in the same mobile skin. No change.

You talked me into the full package. :) I'll use it a lot when I'm mobile and watching games at home with my son. It's worth it to me even if I only watch a game or two a week.

Best in the minors if you believe the Braves.

If you watch a game a week it's easily worth it. I have a Slingbox and all the Braves games are on local TV, so I never used it. I watched half a dozen Nats games in September and that's about it.

The quality of my local channel that carries the Braves is abysmal. Its worse than normal SD--like they compressed HD down to mobile and then sized it up to SD.

The HD quality via ipad and AppleTV is outstanding.

Good to know. I'm thinking of scrapping the BB skin and redirecting you guys to the iPhone. Let me know if you have any issues and thanks for the feedback.

Sadly, the rational move for the Braves is probably to showcase Gattis, let him hit a bunch of home runs, and then trade him to the AL for a legitimate prospect at a position of need. Scotty will be brokenhearted.

Probably. But where is he going to play? 1B? And move Freddie to 3B? That won't work.

That's my point. He can't play anywhere in Atlanta other than catcher now. If he can't handle catcher, then he doesn't have value to the Braves regardless of how good his bat is. And McCann's contract situation means the clock is ticking on how long they have to figure out whether he can.

The iOS Slingbox apps are ridiculously expensive -- $30 each, I think for iPhone and iPad -- but I do have to say I've had my money's worth out of them. Considering what I used to pay for software. Works fine.
