It's at least 20 minutes out of JC. JC people will not want to go there because they all think that this "Firehouse Barbecue" place in town is just as good. They are stupidly wrong.

My mother in law thinks I'm sort of an idiot for driving all the way out there, but she puts up with it. I get two or three pounds of carryout and work on it for awhile.

I don't think it's the 20 minute drive itself as the fact that this other barbecue place is a Johnson City institution, and so JC folks have generally convinced themselves that it's every bit as good and so why would you drive all the way out to Bluff City. As I said, they are mistaken.
