Well we’ve got ourselves in a real mess now, and we need to get out with a legitimate hire.

Petrino makes too much sense—his AD got fired and there’s uncertainty at UofL as a result, his buyout was cut in half because the AD was fired, and he (most likely) loses Lamar Jackson after this season. What better time for him to move on to a bigger gig than now?

From UT’s perspective, yes he has some baggage, but nothing as bad as what was loosely associated with Schiano...and the guy can flat out coach offense. And he took Arkansas to multiple 10-win seasons and a top-5 finish- and that’s a harder job than Tennessee to win at. He’s averaged 9 wins a season over his college career and has just one losing season in 13 seasons as a college head coach—a 5-7 record his first year at Arkansas.

Have you watched Louisville play this year? They have a fantastic QB and still lost a TON of games to teams without much in the way of talent.

The guy also has a ton of baggage - if Schiano has as much as Delta, Petrino has at least as much as Mesa Air.

'Cause hiring a co-Ed plunger is a good idea..... especially after today's debacle

The university just settled a Title IX lawsuit and you want to do what? People need to think realistically here, which make Petrino and Kiffin nuclear waste after the reaction to the diddler coverer.

He has more than just some baggage associated with him.

He’s overrated and we might as well have riot #2 at that point.

If your backing up brinks truck, your sending that truck to Washington to the Petersen residence!

I’d love Chris Petersen, but he’s not coming to Tennessee. What Petrino did was sleazy but not unheard of...certainly not on the same planet as the Sandusky scandal at PSU.

If you want a guy who can coach offense like nobody else and has been a consistent winner everywhere he’s been (besides Atlanta), you cant do much better than Petrino at this point. I would want him to come with a badass DC, though.

F*** no. After vetoing Schiano we don’t want another sleezeball

He's not "sleezy" enough to be removed from consideration. Besides that, there aren't many head-coaching candidates of superior ability out there currently looking to change jobs who are also paragons of virtue.
I'll take a studly coach with a few flaws or past indiscretions over a saintly type with inferior abilities any day.

We're not getting a HR hire.

I'm happy we dropped Schiano, but we haven't been this screwed since the night Kiffin left.
I'll take any competent coach today.

Just find a way to strip the Haslams of their control over this place.

You think if we offered the rumored Gruden $$8-10million to Petersen. He wouldn’t listen? I think being a top 3 paid coach in the NCAA would get him to the table. If we want to move on past Gruden, and the events of yesterday. Then it’s time to open the vault! Or, we could tuck our tails, and say nothing could get a great coach. Might as well hire Joey Mcgoogleson! I chose cracking the vault! What about you?

Sure, let's pay another coach who has moral issues a ton of money after what happened today. Makes perfect sense.

I don’t believe we offered Gruden that much....and I don’t think Chris Peterson would leave UW for Tennessee. He turned down a lot of high profile jobs while at Boise and I think he’s content up there in the Pacific NW

Who do you want—please don’t say Kiffin, because he’s in the same boat, with a less impressive resume

Yeh let's get Petrino 'cause we just ditched a guy due to a suspect morality.

No and no on Petrino. I'd rather have Cutcliffe. Or Tee Marin.

But Chris Petersen is the one we need.

Back that Brinks truck up to his house and just dump it in his yard.
