Need to change the name of this board to "Coach Jones Venting Nation"

Between Trump and Coach Jones the negative-boo at everything-haters are getting a lot of practice.

I remain a Vol For Life, support our coaches and players, proud of my degrees from UT, and hope this team can turn off the Internet and TV and focus on getting better. We improved this week. We are a fight don't quit team. Go Vols!

Trump has nothing to do with Butch Jones and vice versa.

I am proud of my degrees from Tennessee as well, but just because the TEAM has fight doesn't mean we can't critique the COACHING STAFF.

Regardless of what we think of our team, rankings are pretty much meaningless anymore. USF is ranked at 3-0 with wins over San Jose State, Stony Brook and Illinois. UT is 2-1 and "unranked" or in "others receiving votes." But I would be willing to wager that there aren't 25 teams in this country that would be favored over us by Vegas in a neutral site game.

I agree. However, outside of normal "negavol or sunshine" viewpoints, the criticism I must say, is warranted. We have talent and we have fight...but it is year 5 and all too often we are in a Sunday funk because of poor coaching decisions/game plans, or execution issues. Heck, Vandys 2* guys seem to be able to figure it out...and Memphis. We are #3 team in the state, much less, SEC E...in year 5. I believe Butch is an awesome guy and great recruiter, but it has got to start translating to UT expectations...soon. Currie will give him rope but he's gonna start pulling it tighter if this continues. We do, however, have opportunity to still have good season but they better get on it. Butch needs to coach like he's down 14 at all times like his job depends on it...because it does.

Some are happy with being a program that was once great...but isn't anymore. The reason we have a good history is BECAUSE OF winning. For some...they are content with the past. Unranked? Disrespected? Who cares."Im a vol for life".That's great...most of us are. We just think the school, fans,players deserve better.
