Kevin Steele would be a terrible hire. Think about it.. he is not a proven winner. He isnt even a head coach. What is the world are we doing? I would have rather just keep Butch Jones and salvage the damn recruiting class. This is going from bad to worse.

We know Steele isn't a home-run but the question is if he is even a single.

I want Mike Norvell...He is flying under the radar but I imagine his name will explode if he happens to take down Frost and UCF this weekend. Even then he is 10-1 this season and is coaching the 16th ranked team in the nation.

Listen to his interviews. The guy is very well spoken and would be a great leader to help navigate us through this fiasco we are going through right now.

Patience wouldn't hurt right now. Vol fans should take a breath and wait things out for this weekends game. We could hire someone and see next week that Norvell would have been a better fit.

Gundy would have been a good hire, but not sure why we went back to him again this time. He has shown no real interest in leaving OSU. We made the offer public and our chances of hiring a good coach are dwindling with each decline. Coaches know how desperate we are and they know how far down the list they are too. I am not feeling good about hiring a decent coach at this point. Money is not the only factor in the decision for a coach to change jobs.

Are we now left to look for only unemployed coaches (Miles, Sumlin, etc)? Once we find a HC, then we have to worry about finding assistants, which may also prove to be difficult.

We're getting to the possibility of Brady Hoke for a year then hopefully clean up the mess in the AD's office. Start by getting rid of everybody. Maybe then we could get some people up there that actually know something about running a football program..

Les Miles... the same guy who had the state of Louisiana and Texas next door to recruit from and still got fired. His one championship was a lucky two loss season and lost to Saban every time. Why would he beat Saban here?

It's a thin group to pull from. We don't have much choice the way things are going. No way will they offer Kiffin.
