Back from the Swamp.

Florida fans are the worst in the sec, but today's trip to the swamp went really well. I had only three gator fans say anything to me all day. I told two of them to F off and one was screaming Ainge you suck in the bleachers, so I started yelling SHEBOW, SHEBOW, he's a crossdresser and that shut him up.

I will never return to the Swamp for a game. Even if I can't make it to Knoxville, this will never be a place I go to see my Vols play. The way the fans treated us as visitors was pathetic. The way I was cussed at as we walked out of the stadium by adult men, not students, was absurd. When your team has manhandled the other you should just shut up and accept the "good game" that is given to you by the loser. That is good sportsmanship which the Gators dont' know anything about!

don't forget the distinction that an SEC rule was changed because of the Gators.

since the 90's visiting team cannot sit on the sideline in front of the student section, because Gator fans were pissing in cups and tossing them on the vols.

fulmer's wife once was cornered at the swamp and verbally abused.

i've been to many, many games at neyland and have sat on both sides of the field. the only fans that i've ever seen act like complete a@@holes are Gator fans. and i've seen that happen quite a bit.

they are a classless lot.

I quit going to Gainesville when my friend got hit in the head with a Jack Daniels bottle. Walking down the street minding our own business, and BAM. I've been to a majority of the SEC venues, SEC Championships, Notre Dame, Miami, and yes, Florida has been the worst. Even worse than Alabama.

I would agree that there are a few a-holes in every SEC city. But in Gainsville there are 70,000.

It's the 98% of the Gator fans that give the 2% the bad name.

The Gator fans behave this way because we haven't beat them soundly in years, and at the moment they have a little run on us. I've been a couple times as a student, this time as a new alum, and frankly outside of the constant "gator bait" ribbing it has not been that bad. It would be nice to maybe see a national title in basketball, or at least continued success against them because I have no clue when we will beat them in football again.

I've been going to SEC games for over 25 years.

I have been in 8-9 of the stadiums.

I have been a road fan in some pretty rough places. In LSU, Bama, Auburn, and UGA. Leaving the stadium there would one our two a-holes, but mostly "good game", "your QB looked good today", "wow that Gault is fast"...

Gainsville is a whole leval of h*ll.

My 15 year old son went there yesterday with a good friend. Even the friends parents (Bull Gators) was appalled at the abuse he took.

On a bright note -- on the way in he got to meet Fred Thompson and walk to the stadium along with him!

The Florida fans were really really classless. We parked a mile away from the Swamp at a friends house. We walked down University and all I could hear was
Vols are Gatorbait!
Go home we dont want you here!!!!
Vols suck Vols suck Vols suck
#$%@ the Vols
If we were not playing you, Gameday would be here!
Many Gators spewing anti Vol propaganda on MEGAPHONES!!!!
and many many more! I can truly say I did not remember the Swamp being anywhere near this bad. I have a new found HATE for the Gators. The Gator TD right before the first half ended I was walking down the steps and one guy yelled in my ear and another waved and said bye to every Vol who walked by! I was Pissed!
LAW you have a solid team in the Gators and you can have them, because your fan base is COCKY CLASSLESS SHOW OFFS! Congrats on the win you have a great great coach and TT is a playmaker in a great system!

Sounds sort of like some team from Central Ohio.

I can't believe you guys haven't figured this one out.

If Gator fans, or any fans elsewhere, are obnoxious, what's the best way to shut them up? You beat hell out of the other team. If you guys had won Saturday in Gainesville, your fans would be the obnoxious ones. But it's kinda hard to be cocky anywhere when you lose consistently on the opponents homefield.

I haven't read any posts about how the Gators are obnoxious in Neyland, just in the SWAMP. It's just as bad for Gator fans in Knoxville as for you in Gainesville.

That's all fine and dandy, but your fans actually KILLED an opposing team's fan once.

And for the record, I have seen plenty of obnoxious Gator fans in Neyland. I saw a bunch of them throwing stuff from the top of Neyland down onto the sidewalks outside while screaming obscenities. I've NEVER seen that from any other fans.

Please tell me what fans control the outcome of a game. That's right, none. There is at least some respect between fans at all other venues. No excuse for what goes on there.

If I ran out of gas in Gainesville I would rather push my car to the next town than spend another dollar in that hellhole of a town.

The problem is fan is short for fanatic and the problem is everyone can't leave what happened on the field on the field. If everyone realized that the game ended there everything would be ok. The other problem is people drink at college football games and most of the issues come from the students or friends of students at the particular university. Not everyone who drinks causes problems, but you it doesn't help the situation.

You aren't really serious, are you? You really believe the fans have no impact on the outcome of a game? Do you know what it says inside Aggie Stadium at Texas A&M?

Now, that's funny! No way I would push anything to WALDO!:dance2:

That is one of the main reasons that UF stopped giving out 'pass outs' at halftime to the fans. Too many were leaving the stands at halftime, to go back to their cars and drink, then return to the game drunk - again. Can't stop the drinking & unruliness, but at least there is an effort to try and reduce it.

I saw Alabama fans spitting on Vols fans walking up the Gate 10 ramp last year. The Bama fans were in their seats at the very top, near the east side of the scoreboard/jumbotron. Saw it happen multiple times so I tapped the "security/ushers" guys next to me and showed them. They told me to go to tell the "security/ushers" guys closer to that section. :bad: They need radios or something for that kind of crap.

Anyway, I have been to the following stadiums:

LSU (twice, but UT was not playing either time)
Florida (2001 & 2003 :dance2:)
South Carolina (2006)
Ole Miss (multiple times but never when UT was playing)
Vandy (but it was in Adelphia at the time)
Arkansas (2006)

Hands down, the worst I was treated was in Fayetteville. I don't care to go back to that $hithole ever again.

LSU can be pretty bad though.

I would put Florida 3rd on my list of how poorly I was treated.

You have fans from every team like this though. It is just a matter of luckily avoiding them if you are a visitor.

You can't fault UT fans for not winning. There is no excuse for the treatment opposing fans receive in Gainesville. Sad that you seem to enjoy the reputation (must be a new fan). Means a lot that you would come troll AFTER the game.

Fine, that sucks. I don't have an explanation or an excuse for you. Its just not right to treat visitors that way. I have no problem with making it loud and hostile for the opposing team (within the rules and fairly), but the fans should be treated as guests.

K' ville has the worst fans. Most vol fans are 8th grade dropouts and their whole identity is based on the vols.
Win or lose, UT fans are the most crude and rude in the SEC. Try stepping outside your shell and see how "you" treat opposing team fans!!
p.s. GATORS own TN

I hope you enjoyed your stay here, couple more posts like that and I guarantee you that the mods on here will show you the door.

Get over yourself. You aren't smart. You're a Florida fan. You're embarrassing yourself and the rest of your fanbase. Go feather your mullet.

A sports guy on the local radio channel who has been to alot of SEC games says that florida fan is by far the worst he's ever seen. This post just confirms it.
