I've made my points earlier... If you're tired of reading my posts, then block me.
We're talking theory now. Would it really have mattered? I'm just saying in every replay I have seen I have not viewed a 100% block in the back from any Cal player.
I'll blame an offical before most but the reason he returned that punt was because, as I think GAVol put it, it looked like Middle Schoolers trying to get at him.
bottom line is, cal won because of a bad defensive effort on our part. thats all that matters. even if the game were to go to OT, we would have probably arm tackled our way to a Cal victory. sad, but true.
Look at the top pic the freaking official is standing right there for Gods sake.YouTube - Desean Jackson 77 yard punt return for TD vs. Tennessee

UT could easily have lost that Florida game by 3 TDs. The fact that we put up any points at all with our pathetic O-line against their NFL All Star line is astounding. Running the clock out in the fourth quarter was our only hope. Having Ainge continue to air it out would result in an interception or maybe a fumble return for a TD, a la the first drive against Cal.

i don't think. I KNOW. i saw it with my own eyes and heard it with my own ears. and i'm not the only person on this board who did.
Go watch the link I made from youtube. TWO blocks in the back.
We ran down the clock, gained -11 yards on the ground and lost a double digit lead in the process. Getting sacked is one of the risks you take everytime you call up a pass play. Conservative playcalling and playing not to lose mentality is what cost us that game.
Yeah and that too.
