The kid threw for 325 yards and 2 TDs and as the writer from Chattnooga Times pointed out he wasn't throwing to UT's top WRs but to kids who haven't been playing. Kind of strange that here's a kid whose 6'5 weights 215 lbs with good speed and a lazer for an arm and the coaches can't get him on the field despite having 2 lousy QBs playing in front of him. No wonder the Vols are 3-7 right now. When you've got starting players like Gerald Jones talking about this red-shirt freshman being a born leader with a lazer arm who just happens to put the ball on the money and not getting a chance to play makes you wonder what the coaches see that apparently no one else does.

Crompton was Phil's boy from the giddy-up and BJ was Cut's guy. That's all there is to it.

Was looking at the stats and he looked good but he did not play against a D1 defense so it all plays out...My question and it is killing me to know just why in the world E.J. Abrams Ward did not see action in that game...He is a 6-4 freshman wide out that can make a difference just with his size...I have seen him in warmups and he looks like he can make a difference on the field especially with making it hard to match up with him...This staff is proving more and more how inept that they really are:no:

we could at least give him some meaningful playing time it's not going to hurt anything at this point

On the radio this morning they were suggesting that Coleman should play these last 2 games so that the new coach would have some film to study to see how he plays. I guess that makes too much sense though.

I know this is a Coleman thread, but it was also nice to see Donald lead the defense in tackles and Paige lead the team in receptions.

They at least need to give Coleman a shot...it can't get much worse than it already is with Jonathan Incrompetent.

But seriously, does anyone else find it sad that we're at a point where most of the UT Football headlines are talking about the JV game and not the actual game itself?

Would our coaches risk starting Coleman these last to games and have him light it up and lead us to victory making our coaches look like COMPLETE morons for not playing him sooner? Hmmmm...

What's this nonsense about Donald leading the team in tackles and Paige leading the team in receptions? That can't be. They're not ready yet!

Donald is stuck at a position with a ton of talent. That's what has kept him off the field.

I can't complain about Ellix Wilson, Rico McCoy or Nevin McKenzie, can you?

You have a point, but I think to most people they already look like complete morons, so what could a little more hurt.

I could complain about Rico. He definitely did not live up to expectations from last year. Maybe it was to his advantage having Mayo play beside him. I just know he's missed quite a few tackles this year. Ellix has played better than i expected but i still would have liked to see Gerald get some PT at MLB.

He did and he looked lost. That's why he's getting snaps at DE

I didn't remember seeing him get ANY effective PT at MLB. I do remember reading that in practice when he played at MLB all the coaches were saying he's a tackling machine and runs well side to side and has a natural ability at MLB. I seen plenty of plays where Ellix was lost in the middle and out of position on pass coverage. But i guess that's expected after watching Mayo play at MLB.
