Actually it was a player idea. If I remember correctly, Eric Berry and Montario Hardesty were the ones who ended up in Mike Hamilton's office asking if it could be done.

The pants would look bad, the jerseys were great, imo.

We know. This argument is old and not very good. I heard this ad nauseum last October. It just sounds like you are talking down to someone. We aren't dumb. We know Orange and White are our colors. I love Tennessee's orange and white (except white jerseys on orange pants), but I absolutely LOVED the black jerseys. The crowd went nuts for them and the energy stayed with both the crowd and the players all night. I don't think ONE night in black jerseys destroys any traditions or changes the school colors...

The black jersey doesnt blend as well with the white helmet. But a white helmet/white jersey with black pants is fine. Look as SC's uniform their pants look almost black here:

I like the white jersey with the orange pants! For some reason it looked amazing a couple of years ago when they went to UCLA and played in those!

the black wouldn't have looked as bad last year had they not included the orange pants with them. if they would have included black pants to go with the jersey then it would have been more consistent. but the black jersey/orange bottoms getup looked pretty bad.

With a back helmet and orange power T i think that combo would look pretty sick.. even with the white helmets I think the players would enjoy it

I hate black. Look at the practice uniforms. They are way better than that black outlined garbage they wear on the road.

I'm 100% opposed to any scenario that includes orange pants. Whether it's actually the case or not, the orange pants seem terribly unlucky........
I love the white pants, the ones before the stripe...with the orange T on the thigh......
