I disagree. If you laugh off the ribbing from the non-drunk people it should not be a problem. The drunks are the main problem.

And I do suspect this year that if you go the number of people giving you a hard time will be outnumbered five to one by people congratulating you in advance for the win.

The majority of "bad fans" that go beyond ribbing are just drunks, so let me word it a differently...

Gainesville seems to have a higher number on average, of people that can't "hold their liquor". That doesn't take anything away from the other fans.

I haven't been since the 90's, hopefully things have changed.

Actually my biggest problem with a fan was a Tennessee fan; female of course. She waited until we came out, and claimed I had hit her car. What had happened, when I put my car in park it rolled forward a little and was right up against her bumper. Therefore I had to get in and back up to see, and of course no damage.

I'll agree to an extent: I've witnessed several interactions between Vol fans and other fans and I'd call it even the amount of obnoxiousness between the two parties; and then later seeing the same Vol party describe the incident like they were saints that the evil other fans just walked up and terrorized.

Don't think that was what most of these stories were about. Going out on a limb here but I doubt that fans that were the targets of urine bombs, had first wizzed at upper decks or second floor windows. But then again, maybe if Jager was involved.

Went to Athens for the James banks QB game, everything was going just fine....then we lost, and then they started talking trash..... I don't mind the trash talk, if you start early, you got no balls if you wait til it's over and then act like like you new you were gonna win the whole time, that's being a punk.... On the way out couldn't find the car....that's not right it was oxford where we lost the car, Athens is where my brothers lost their car.... GO VOLS!

I've been to alabama for the last 3 TN games and never had a problem. I'll be sitting in the student section this year, as a student, decked out in my UT gear (yall pray for me). Also making the trip to gainsville, and athens for the alabama - UGA game. Should be a fun year.
Worst experience I've ever had: when I wore a UT jersey to the bama - Florida game last year. Talk about getting cussed and threatened.

I have been to the swamp many times and have had some bad experiences...mostly trash talking *******s but have helped break up a few fights that have broke out near me...Had my van keyed badly in 2001 and on that same night I had some girl threaten to spit on me while standing in line for the restroom at halftime...Told her if she did I wasn't going to hit her but i was going to throw her cowardly geek boyfriend over the railing...Told her to choose wisely and she backed off...Never once had a problem at any Alabama game I've been to, both home and away they are usually good fans.

One time at a Vanderbilt game, some guy in the bathroom asked me if I wanted to do a "water gun" while I was in the middle of taking a piss. Connect the dots.

Yankee_Vol, I hear this a lot, I have been to every game in Athens since 1996 except 2. I have never had a bad time there, I believe it was '98 they were shaking our hands as they were leaving their stadium in the third quarter. I have had a lot more issues with lsloser fans.

Went to the Packers/ Falcons playoff game, and that is a combination of ghetto/redneck trash. Once Tramon Williams took a pick 6 back to the house before halftime, they were quite.

It's just personal experience and that's all. Every single SEC fan base has good and bad people.

Went to Lexington and the fans there acted like we shouldn't cheer and such, at all. We jumped on them quick , so I kind of just sat on my hands for a little bit.... When your up by 3 TDs.... I try not to rub it in.... Time to relax a little....(and it's Kentucky).... They score and you would have thought they had taken the lead and was really giving me the business... So I flipped the switch back on, and got loud, and as usual we ended up running it up on them with backups.....so we win the game.... The only negative was on the way up there we get into KY, and my brother is driving and he is speeding as usual , and I say if you get a ticket I'm out....slow down, jinx, before the next curve blue lights $160 ticket. We pulling away from the police my dad says" I've got a 3rd of that"..... Silent close...... We all sit there as long as I could take it, and I finally said , "I'm in on a 3rd"...... GO VOLS!

And btw I have been to ever sec school to watch UT play except AM MIZZ and LSU.

Florida by a country mile is the worst. I thought BAMA had most of the stupid toothless drunk rednecks. WRONG its the Gator fans

At bama for the mt Cody debacle.... I get a program so I can at least know who their backups are.... Im thumbing thru it and they have a center fold of saban.... As I'm looking at it, bama coed smarts off about taking it back to the room and...... Well you get the drift.....there was an 8 ur old little girl sitting next to us, my brother says see I told you they have class.....Cody blocks the field goal ( was that 2 for him, that game) we lose the game.... Had trouble finding the car that day....I did get to pet SMOKEY after the game....he is a good dog let me pet him like he was mine.........GO VOLS!
