Maybe if he develops more of an ability to face up and drive to the basket, rather than his back to the basket game. A power forward at 6'8" ain't bad, he just needs to expand his offense a little. He's like barely 18 years old.I like everything about Awaka, but I don’t see “superstar” in his future JMO. If he was 3-4” taller then possibly? Glad we’ve got him and bet he’s a starter before he leaves.
@Thunder Good-Oil , was Dyron Nix the last Vol to lead the SEC in rebounding ? Either way, I predict Awaka will lead the SEC in rebounding, no later than his junior year.Last month Barnes was interviewed after a game and said that Awaka was only17. Then Awaka was interviewed right after that and corrected him.

Idk if Nix led in total rebounds in '86-'87, but his average, 10.1 was first in that year.I don’t think that Dyron lead the SEC in total rebounds. Williams at LSU, Perdue (2x) at Vandy, and Davis at Florida were the leaders in 1985-1989.
Stokes was the SEC “offensive” rebound leader in back-to-back years.
Bernard might have been TN’s last SEC rebounding leader. I’m not sure that he lead the SEC, but I think he averaged 13 rpg over his career. And 25 ppg.
