Avery Strickland

Avery is a great culture kid, her role will always be limited on Kim’s teams just due to the kind of athelticism our roster has now and going forward.

She seems to be enjoying herself and the three at the end of the bench make the most of their minutes when they are in the game. She in particular is aggressive offensively and makes things happen which is fun to watch.

With the previous staff she would have played more but that was purely due to roster makeup. With our current roster, the incoming class and potential portal pickups she will remain down the depth chart.

Avery played for me once
I know what she is capable of
and its more than she has been able to show

After a pair of emotionally and physically draining losses, a road game could have been a tricky affair. In truth, the team started a little slow but took control in the 2nd quarter and never looked back, This team does not play down to its competition.

Avery always makes the most of her minutes. Maybe with perseverance and practice she can get a few more minutes throughout closer games to get more experience. Her hustle and heart will never be a detriment, especially the way CKC substitutes. She signed autographs for my daughter after the Winthrop game. Classy young lady.

I like her but idk if she barely in the rotation this year i definetly dont see it for next year
Who is coming but we have some graduations and there is always the possibility that some transfer out.

Every one predicted that Tess would not see the court either. Tess is taller and stronger but Avery is a little quicker.

I don't think she will be a core player but she could have a role.

At this point am I leaving anyone out?

1 Cooper
2 Boyd
3 Whitehorn
4 Civil or Prawl
5 Spearman

1 Mia Pauldo
2 Civil or Pauldo
3 Strickland or Hurst
4 Prawl or Wynn
5 Latham

6 E Darby

If we add no one else, Strickland would be competing for a spot in that second 5.

Not wanting to jinx things, but ala Wynn, injuries happen.

What I am saying is that there is one player on the list who is correctly a walk-on and I am sure a great teammate but she is not at the level and not likely to ever get there. (Would not shock me if she transfers after big sis is done).

Strickland is a legit player, albeit a role player but if the team had to rely in her more, she could hold her own.

I am not making any claims beyond that.

Since Wells is still getting minutes ! Then an injury (red shirt) is not in her plans! Edie as a walk on …. I don’t see a need for her to go anywhere for one year ? So there are 12 scholarship players for 25-26….. Giving us 3 possibilities for portal players to add this summer ? And 4 Seniors graduating next year… at least 4 spots for 26 recruits plus 3 potential portal players ( depending on their years of eligibility)? I hope I didn’t confuse anyone?
