May I suggest that if the speed limit is 70, do not go over 80. My ticket will cost you $105.00.:hi:

It depends. Most of the time 75-85 unless someone else is in the car with me then it is 70-75.

I bet you drive slower when you talk don't you, and that's probably most of the time. :whistling:

85... I hate people that don't use their cruise and go from 60-80 then 80-70, back and forth...

that's a pet peeve of mine. I'll have my cruise set on 77 in a 70 mph zone and I'll have the same SUV pass me, then get passed by me, then pass me, then get passed me 6 times in an hour. And they have the nerve to look at me like i'm doing something stupid.

Usually 5 to 10 over. When traveling between Denver and Knoxville though, 15 to 25 over. I have gone over 100 in Kansas every time, but only between the slight hills, as I can see ahead for about 3 miles in between.

the PA turnpike. 90 mph is slow on that thing, I got passed by a Beemer once and tried to speed up just to gauge it's speed and it was still blowing me away at 112.

usually set the cruise about 7mph over the limit. I drive in VA so I'm sure it works

however if traffic is running along at 90 I will get with the flow

depends on what state or location i'm in. I've set my cruise in the 105 range several times on the turnpike at night. Most of the time i'm around 8 over.

I don't like going more than +10 the speed limit but it all depends on the flow of traffic.

Granted I've only been driving for about 5 years...I've never been pulled over.

If you were entering or leaving Knoxville yesterday afternoon, obeying the speed limit would have been a good option.

75-80 normally. I did 130+ all the way up Pellissippi when I was running late for work again.

I was entering around 8 pm...what'd I miss?

From Merchants Drive to Emory road, the roadsides were lined with Knoxville's Finest. I saw three marked and one unmarked car. The reason I knew it was unmarked was because it was parked behind a car on the shoulder and had flashing blue lights on the inside. And there was a cop car in front of the car.

I had a load of floor tile, which slowed me down. Otherwise, I probably would have been a few dollars poorer today.

My Valentine One lets me go as fast as I want. No tickets since 04 and I try to stay at least between 85-105. I did however get pulled once in SC for 137mph but no ticket.

Speed tickets are mostly a BS anyway. One should never speed in school zones or construction zones...but if it is a clear day, good driving conditions, and little traffic...there should be no problem with doing above 80 on the interstate. This business of it being about safety is a croc.
