I'm 61 and I don't like being grouped with the "old people." Sure, when I was 30 I thought 60 was OLD. :scare: For that matter, I remember 30 sounding pretty old when I was 20. But as I get older, the "old" limit keeps moving further out! :neener2:
Question is, who are the +60s?
Hi BeecherVol and a big Happy New Year to ya'. I'm 64 and my Dad started taking me regularly to Neyland in '56 when Johnny Majors was the star tailback in the old single-wing formation. We were at the Georgia Tech game in Atlanta (Grant Field) that year when the Vols won a classic 6 to 0. A nation-wide poll of sportswriters voted that game the "greatest college game ever" for decades. I saw a Tech fan outside the stadium before the game waving two 100 dollar bills for "two together". NO takers. In 1956, 200 bucks was WAY more than most folks made in a month!! Three years later, I was down on the field in Neyland when we stopped the great Billy Cannon's 2-point try and prevailed 14 to 13 over No. 1-ranked L.S.U. I'm UTK class of "68 and was there when the Vols turned the corner in "65. Had classes and partied with most of those guys. Magical times, my friend. I still yell and holler, ( too much according to the wife), but I LOVE my Vols and will till the day I die.epper:
