I wouldn't go that far, but I do think they're pretty awesome. I saw them in Nashville last year.

They are a decent band, and I enjoy them, but they are far from the best band ever.

They're decent. I've seen them live three times going back to 2003, once at a concert here, once at Warped Tour here and once at Warped Tour in Los Angeles.

I will say that I like Sounding The Seventh Trumpet and Waking The Fallen ffaaaarrrr more than all their other albums, and that I think they've turned a bit into a shell of themselves since M. Shadows had vocal surgery, but the guitar skill is of a pretty high order which keeps me coming back.

Never especially liked them, but they were probably a big influence for most of the bands I do like.

I doubt that, my appreciation for A7X extends through and stops at musicianship. Originality is not one of their strong suits.

They are to metal what everything else from LA County and Orange County is to music. High order execution of other people's ideas.

I don't know...they were an early kinda post hardcore band. I don't know of any bigger bands that were doing some of the more progressive licks and whatnot at that point in time. I'm sure others did it before them, but I feel like they were significant contributors to the rise of the post hardcore wave.

There wasn't anything they had done that hadn't been done in the prior ten years in post hardcore, A7X was just among the first to achieve real commercial success

I'll take your word for it. In my personal experience, I've thought their material was ahead of their time. Granted they may not have been radical by any means, but that's just what caught my ear.

I like A7X, mainly the stuff they have released since Bat Country. I don't like the screamo/death metal crap. Love their latest album. Got to see them play in Memphis back in 2008, a couple of months before their drummer died. He was a talented musician. A shame that he passed.

It would take 3 things to get me into this band:

1. A bowl of seasoned paint chips weighing roughly 2.5 pounds.

2. Extensive self-mutilation.

3. Mania.

I appreciate the homage they pay to original thrash bands like Metallica - but I'm lukewarm on their stuff...over produced comes to mind.
