Simms: "Why would you leave a place like Tennessee -- not everyone can wear orange and white and run through the ‘T'."

You seriously have go give it to Matt.

He got destroyed last year and never complained a bit..lost his starting job to a Freshman and quietly went about his business.

We really need to support him..I know he's not the best, but he'll lay it all on the line for Tennessee and there's not much more you can ask from him.

I don't have any problem rooting the guy....
I just hope Worley is ready to play because Simms against LSU's defense = Tragedy looming.

Simms has an opportunity to prove a lot of people wrong about his abilities. I'm pulling for him.

Agree, VFL, most kids would be sulking, some of them publicly. Here is his chance to become a legend.

I say we go to Nance if Simms got injured... No point in burning Worley's RS over the LSU game.

If it wouldn't absolutely murder Worley's confidence, I would want to see him start until Bray returns. He has more of a future here than Simms and we aren't going to win anyway. Baptism by fire/hurricane/tornado/lightning I suppose.

I've always liked Simms. He hangs onto the ball too long, and he's just not as good a QB as the guy he's replacing, but he can take a beating.

Remember in the LSU game last year how Chaney used him to run a number of QB draws. I expect something similar this year - he'll adapt the game plan to the QB (having a strong running game would sure be nice, but that's apparently not in the cards).

Agreed. It is seriously hard not to like this kid. I'm hoping he can finish what he started last year during the LSU game. He might not have a ton of talent, but he has swag-and this team needs some.

Worley has already been announced as the backup, guys.
I hate that it has to come to that, but it is what it is.

I couldn't agree more. Was just thinking about that.

He had plenty of chances last season..

Maybe things changed idk...but this game is not the ideal time to make judgments about his performance haha

Matt Simms is hands down the best backup QB in the SEC-E, maybe even in the SEC (dont keep up with too many QB2's, but who does?). He has faced this kind of competition and it will not rattle him to get hit like hes about to. I cant think of a #2 that I would rather have coming into the meat of our schedule.

Brandon Mitchell maybe?

He appeared in four games for the Razorbacks. In the season-opening 44-3 win vs. Tennessee Tech, Mitchell was 1-for-3 passing for 16 yards and also rushed twice with a long run of five yards. He saw action in the final three games of the season, at No. 22 Mississippi State, vs. No. 6 LSU and the Allstate Sugar Bowl vs. No. 6 Ohio State, as part of Arkansas' kickoff coverage and kickoff return units.

No thanks.

Not likely, but if through fluke LSU turnovers TN somehow pulls off the W over #1 ranked team, Simms will become an instant TN legend. What an opportunity. Remember Tony Robinson going down, fans thought Season was over, and fifth year senior Dickey came in and played pretty well. (1985)

This year is the last chance he will have at doing something special. If Simms comes out on fire and plays lights out, i will not be the least bit surprised.
