Just texted a buddy of mine on the team. He said it was true and that Austin told them that he will try for the 6th year.

I asked how he did it, and he replied that it occurred while the players were warming up on hurdles before their 7 on 7 workouts.

I know Jordan Shipley was just granted a sixth year of eligibility. He missed most of 2004 and 2005 season due to a leg injury.

Sorry to hear that for AR. I'm not even joking guys. Hate for a player to end his career like this.

They may have to start wearing some knee braces while working out, if this keeps up.
I really hated seeing Toney Williams going down. I figured it would start out as a tandem between him and Hardesty...with Brown coming into the mix at some point later in the season

Brown is in the mix now. He's just one of those impact freshmen.

Thats a sad thing for that to happen to a guy on his senior season. If you ever consider making a joke about a guy being hurt like this then something is wrong with you.

I hope Austin can get the 6th year, make a successful recovery and get to be on the team one year with his brother before he moves on to other things.

Austin Rogers and good receiver shouldn't even be in the same paragraph.

Oh boy... here we go again with the Facts vs Melanin Bias again.

Rogers had one of the best seasons a WR has had at UT in the last 10 or 15 years in 07. He plays with heart, blocks his tail off, and goes over the middle.

This injury stinks for UT and Rogers.

Believe it or not, Austin is a guy that a lot of the younger players look up too. Look up his statistics and compare them to some of the other vol greats... to say he cant contribute would be ignorant.

Hope he gets a speedy recovery.
If he gets a 6th year, He will actually help our WR core next year. He and GJ will provide a great SR WR tandem...

However, if Nuke is the Real Deal, like many people are saying...it's going to be extra tough to beat him out.

You sure you werent dancing in the streets

While lockdown likes to bag on AR a bit I am positive he would not enjoy seeing him injured. Now if he had been benched...

It would be nice if he could get a 6th year so he could at least have one year "on the field" so to say, with his brother, Zach.
