To get 200+ tackles in a HS season it obviously indicates aptitude. I mean, 200 tackles!!?

BTW per scout:
As a junior, Johnson finished with 117 tackles and six sacks en route to all-district and all-state honors and was the top vote-getter of all the linebackers on the all-state squad.

Dang, that's Tiger Woods type production, now we just need to move Rod Wilks to LB and we'll be set...thanks L V, you're my hero!

I had I guy on my high school team who was "credited" with over 200 tackles in his senior year. But who do you think keeps the stats? The coaches. Yeah, he was a helluva player, but my guess would have been in the 150 range. TIFWIW

Doesn't matter kind of competition your up against 200+ tackles in a single season is impressive.

150 is nothing to scoff at either!

His competition sucked. Hickory High were studs playing against JV competition that did nothing but run the ball. He did look awful good against mediocre competition, though. His dad is a big time car dealer -Mike Johnson.I wish him the best and would love to see him succeed. Glad to see him getting some PT last year.

I played Linebacker in high school and 211 tackles in one season sounds far-fetched but hey i aint saying its not possible but thats an incredibly high number... sounds almost too good to be true... hope im wrong

Anybody mentioned that Austin is maybe too big to play LB in our old system? He is more DE size. Does this mean we're moving toward a 3-4?

I think he'll be a great LB, just saying that his body type is more fitted to DE in our old system. Where do you see him playing?

200 tackles a season is almost 20 per game, depending on the post season. That means he can get to the football. I think he is moving to LB to add depth. He probably will not play much unless injuries hit the LB's like last year.
