Aurburn says Kiff Worst Hire in SEC history..

Mine as well, my Dad gave me the book "You Can Go Home Again", by Johnny Majors and Ben Byrd. The point is people have won there in the past. Earl Bruce also had reasonable success in Ames, parlaying it into the tOSU gig, with three 8-3 reg. seasons, the last 2 seasons with a bowl loss in each. A good coach can win anywhere in college which makes me question Chizik's ability to survive in the SEC. If Auburn continues to whiff in recruiting in the state of Alabama (none of the top ten players 2 yrs running), he has very little chance to succeed.
I will have to check that book out...Yeah I don't know Chizik may go down there and succeed, wasn't he their DC the year they went undefeated and got stiffed with the Sugar Bowl?

Firing Tuberville is along the lines of Denver firing Shannahan. I guess the Cylcones are the a top notch Big 12 program. Auburn will suck for a decade.

This column has zero credibility. Included in their list of Five Good Things for Auburn Football is an ACL tear for one of their QBs. They actually tried to spin it into a positive.

2. Barrett Trotter’s ACL tear – Sure Barrett Trotter was in the thick of the starting quarterback mix, and of course no one wants to see a player suffer a season-ending injury. But chances are a year on the sidelines will do the Tigers’ quarterback-of-the-future a lot of good. First, ACL tears are not at all career threatening. Second, Trotter now gets an opportunity to wade gently into Auburn’s new offensive system, rather than being thrown into the deep end as a freshman. Let the more experienced Neil Caudle take the reins this season, all the while praying he avoids the injury bug.

Yeah, what they said, an ACL tear is a good thing for a promising young career. It's an easy injury to bounce back from, and you can learn from the sideline while avoiding further injury on the field.

Classy Vol, aren't ya'. Regardless of our disdain for our rivals, wishing a career injury on a great player is not how we want to represent ourselves as a Volunteer.

Auburn is getting crushed by Saban / Bama in recruiting and now Auburn fans are forced to find other schools to criticize! LOL---chizik may not last 2 seasons.

And the Vols can't put any claim to either one of these.
Yes we can! Albeit circa 1998 we won the first BCS title.Hell UGA hasn't won a title since the Iran Hostage conflict over 28yrs ago..Georgia is pedestrian at best and their NCAA trophy case is filled with Gymnastics hardware..

maybe i'm missing something. i thought bowden's problem was mainly that alot of people thought he couldn't recruit and that future teams would suffer for it. and also that alot of his relationships with the higher ups were rocky anyway. there were rumors circulating about him, but i don't know of any of those that were confirmed. fill me in.
Supposedly he was having an affair with the daughter of Bobby Lowder . . . the booster that basically runs the Auburn Athletic Department.

Its funny that the Awbies are talking about coaches. Seeing that they hired such a great coaching talent named Cheez-it.

Let's keep in mind that the hand that fed Kiffin in Oakland just drafted Heyward-Bey ahead of Crabtree and grabbed a safety from Ohio that could've been had in the 7th Round likely. That tells me everything I needed to know.

I guess we will find out which hire was worse on 10/03 when the Tigers visit Rocky top huh? By that time both teams will have played 4 games a peice and both could have a really bad game before the match up. It will be interesting either way.

Auburn / Bobby Lowder should have never fired Tuberville---he's 10 times better than Gene Chizik.

Auburn is THE biggest "wanna be" team in the SEC. Some of my best friends are Auburn grads and I think from all the years of being Bamer's little brother gave them a Mark Wahlberg complex. Just pat them on the head and tell them to go out and play.

hatchet job...pure and simple. Reporters/Journalists have nothing new to write in the off season so they continue to beat the Kiffin is stupid drum. I can not wait till he piles up a few wins just to shut these people down. :horse:
